Happy News
And just like that we’re halfway through the weekend and it’s time for another of my simple Sunday projects. But first I have a little happy news, the Countryside Inn 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) has been restocked. So to celebrate I decided to use some on my card and envelope. The pattern I chose today is one I haven’t used before, it’s a white background covered with small flowers and leaves in shades of blue. Stylish Shapes Part 2
Yesterday I showed you an idea for a birthday card with an unusual arrangement of layers. Using the Stylish Shapes Dies I cut a circle from my main card layer so the card base was able to show through. Then I fixed the die-cut sentiment inside the hole and the card base became a faux mat layer. Of course that left me with the circle I’d die-cut from the layered Designer Series Paper (DSP). Stylish Shapes Part 1
Today’s birthday card is one of those happy accidents that occurs when I’m just playing with stamps, ink and paper. In fact it started out as a simple idea using the colours of the paper as my inspiration. It was only after I stamped the sentiment that more interesting things started to happen. I could have simply used one of the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a separate mat layer for the sentiment. However then I wondered what would happen if I let the card base do the job instead. Something For The Guys
I've spent a few days making flowery projects so I decided it was definitely time to create something more masculine. Not that this project began that way. In fact I’d started by collecting together a few pastel shades of card and coordinating ink pads.
