It’s officially spring, and as expected it’s also snowing outside. Still, in my craft room it can be any season I want. Today it’s summer, and I decided to bring you a pair of birthday cards that I designed for our Canadian Demonstrator newsletter “Inspiration Canada”. I’ve been contributing project designs and articles for the newsletter for many years and was excited to create these slimline cards. Whether you fancy the pink version or the blue one they both use the Artfully Layered Stamp Set ... VIEW POST
Celebrating You For An Anniversary
Every card maker needs a good set of basic sentiments. Over the years I’ve collected a lot of them. Mostly they’ve come as part of a set with images, but not all. My current favourite sentiment-only stamp set is Celebrating You. This set of 16 sentiments covers most celebrations, and the fonts used are simply gorgeous. They’re crisp and clear and neat (I'm not keen on many of the ‘looser’ script styles). Today I decided it was time to make an anniversary card, and Celebrating You was there ... VIEW POST
Elegantly Said On Valentine’s Day
Today is Valentine’s Day and Old Man Winter’s gift is another snow storm. Never mind, I wasn't really planning on going out. But instead I have a great excuse for continuing to migrate the contents of my old laptop to my new computer. Of course as I’m in the craft studio anyway I can take a break (or maybe several) to create something. Today I started with a very striking bookmark using the Elegantly Said and Turtle Friends Stamp Sets. It’s quite a simple layout but ... VIEW POST
Happiness Is A Paper Hug
Today I'm continuing with my quest to revisit older but still available Stampin' Up! products. In the end I used two stamp sets. The first, Hippo Happiness, is very likely to be on the Annual Catalogue retiring list that's revealed next month. The other, Through It Together, is from the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue. It's a very versatile sentiment only stamp set and hopefully it will make it into the new Annual Catalogue. With stamps, ink and paper close at hand I sat down and began ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Very Versailles Stamp Set
What a frustrating morning! My vintage style gift tag made using the Very Versailles Stamp Set was done yesterday, and today I just had to write the blog post. However, on-going problems with our rural internet have been worse than ever. Just recently it's been extremely unstable, cutting out every couple of minutes. Right now we have a temporary fix, but long-term we've been told we should upgrade our service. So instead of my planned crafting day I'll be researching our options. ... VIEW POST
Hats Off For An Inky Solution
On Christmas Day my card featured a robin against a striking watercoloured scene from the amazing New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP). Sadly the project you saw was a do-over, as while cleaning up I'd dropped an open black ink pad onto the original card and ruined it. So that day I took the card apart and remade it with a new (but identical) background. However as I mentioned yesterday I hate wasting product, so here's the second part of my solution to use that damaged ... VIEW POST
