Yesterday was an exciting day as I unpacked my latest customer orders. It’s always really interesting to see what other people are getting, and to inspect the products up close. I have to say that sometimes my own orders have been influenced by what my customers get. This parcel was especially welcome though because it also included a brand new bundle for me from the January to June 2023 Mini Catalogue. This will be one of the bundles used in Stampin’ Up!’s World Card Making Day event on October ... VIEW POST
Fern Changing Colours
As I sat down to create today’s project I had just a very vague idea of what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to experiment a little more with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. In previous experiments I’d simply embossed coloured card, which turned out remarkably well. After that I'd inked up some card before embossing the fern design into it, and adding other ink colours afterwards. Today I wanted to see what would happen if I started by embossing Basic White Card before inking ... VIEW POST
Starry Sky Monochrome
Do you make one project and walk away, or do you create several in one sitting? For me it often comes down to inspiration. I often think of new project ideas while I’m still working on something else. For this reason I generally keep a notebook handy so I can write things down before I forget. Other times it’s not a specific project that I think of, but rather a desire to keep using a particular product. That’s how I ended up with this birthday card in monochrome Starry Sky. DECORATIVE ... Hand Penned Flowers Again
After creating yesterday’s decorated box project I did something that I rarely do, I walked away from my workspace without put everything away. It’s not a difficult or time-consuming task as everything has a place, but I was running late for an appointment and it was a minute I just didn’t have. Of course that meant when I sat down to create today’s card project I had to clear the desk first. However before putting away the pretty Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set I couldn’t resist getting it inky ... VIEW POST
Highlighting The Fern
Sometimes I just need to start the day a little later. I’ve noticed as I get older that I can only push myself so far, then I need to reset by sleeping a little longer and taking the day at a much slower pace. That’s not always easy with several calls/meetings planned. You’ve probably guessed that today is one of those days. Still, I managed to create today’s card project between scheduled appointments. It’s a masculine / gender neutral “thinking of you” card with a bold fern embossed background ... VIEW POST
Gnomes The Easy Way
Several months ago I created a custom background using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. In fact it was only after making a bookmark it that I thought it might be useful to film the process. Of course having done that I then had another custom background, and it’s been sitting on my desk ever since. Well I’ve finally got around to using part of that piece to create today’s project. That was after I realised that one of the gnomes in the Storybook Gnomes paper and the background coordinated ... VIEW POST
