As well as stamp sets and dies there’s lots of other new products in the Stampin’ Up! January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue. Of the three embossing folders the first one I had to get for myself was the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve been hoping for at least one new non-floral design that I could use for card layers and this one immediately caught my eye. On today’s project I decided to bring out the detail of the embossing using three different inks applied with a Sponge Dauber. CANE ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With Rays Of Light
Today my first task was to celebrate the launch of the Last Chance Promotion and Clearance Rack refresh with a small order. I was also planning to take advantage of a Demonstrator perk by placing an order for some new products from the January to April Mini Catalogue. But first I needed to finish my blog post. Unfortunately we had strong winds and torrential rain overnight which caused the power to go out. After 9 hours it’s finally restored, and so I’m celebrating the return of heat and light ... Soft Seedlings Repurposed
Almost a month ago I showed you a simple thank you card using the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set. I must admit that I was late to the party with this set and my only regret is not getting it sooner. This is a DistINKtive stamp from Stampin’ Up! which means it stamps with varying areas of light and dark all in one go. What I didn’t say when I made that card was that I’d had an issue with the first background. Today I repurposed part of that original piece. NO SEEDLINGS My original card focused ... VIEW POST
Soft Autumn Thank You
My Facebook memory for today was a couple of photos I’d taken four years ago. They were the same view of maple trees in my front yard taken one day apart. I was actually comparing how different the autumn leaves looked as the sun came up versus when the sun was higher in the sky. This memory gave me the spark of an idea for today’s card project. So after pulling out four ink pads along with the Soft Seedlings and Go To Greetings Stamp Sets I quickly got started. SOFT SEEDLINGS START I ... VIEW POST
Beauty Of Dies
The beauty of papercrafting is that there are so many different ways to create projects. Of course that doesn’t mean every project I make is different. In fact I sometimes feel I can get fixated on one or two techniques and forget about all the other wonderful things I can do with the tools at my disposal. Today was not one of those days as I resurrected an oldie but goodie; the faux letterpress technique. All you need is your standard die-cutting machine, a die and a Silicone Craft ... VIEW POST
Thanks Again
Since the restrictions due to CoVid have all but disappeared it’s great to be able to eat out again. As a result I was reminded of an idea I had a while ago when leaving a tip for the server. On that occasion I simply created a mini card and envelope but there’s lots of other options. So today I decided to show you a more elaborate idea using the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. However instead of stamping a “thank you” sentiment I pulled out the Thanks & Hello Embossing Folders. THANKS FOR ... VIEW POST
