My daughter happily told me that where she is in the UK it’s +13C before noon and they’re all in shorts. Here it’s barely +4C and I’ve no plans to put away my warm clothes for a while. Spring is coming though and with it will go all thoughts of winter, even in my craft studio. But not quite yet as I continue my review of retiring products. Today’s project features the retiring Snowman Season Stamp Set and coordinating (and also retiring) Snowman Builder Punch. I’m going to miss them. LET'S ... VIEW POST
Delightful Use For Flowery Scraps
OK let’s talk about gift tags. They can be as simple or as complicated as you want. The tied tags I make fall into 3 categories. First there’s the folded tags (most often 3” x 3”) that look like mini cards. Then there’s flat tags made using dies like the Tailor Made Tags Dies. But for speed and ease of use you can’t beat the Tag Topper punches from Stampin’ Up! Today’s project features the Delightful Tag Topper Punch which I suspect may be on the retiring list next ... Pretty Pieces Of Pansy Petals
Well it's official. Hubby went out yesterday to start chipping away at the layer of ice on the driveway and measured it at 5-1/4" up in front of the garage. Unfortunately we're not going to see much of a thaw and it could take weeks to shift completely. Meanwhile I've decided that it's not too early for spring in the craft room. So for this morning's simple Sunday project I pulled out my scraps of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP). With a little fussy cutting and the Pansy Patch ... VIEW POST
Penguin Weather On The Way
It's time to get out the thermals. All our snow has been washed away and it looks like it will be a green Christmas. Not that I'll want to go out, it's getting much colder and I'm definitely a warm weather person. Later today with the wind it's going to feel like minus 17C! Brrr, much to cold for me. So I'll take it as a sign that I'm meant to stay home and play. Yesterday I took delivery of a box of goodies from the new January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue so I have sneak peek projects to ... On The Cusp Of Snowman Season
We haven't had snow, yet, but I can feel it's coming. I've finally had to give in and get out some warmer clothes, and the heavier quilt's on the bed too. It's now I start thinking that I'd definitely be happier if we could have the beauty of snow without the cold. I'm not good with cold, for me winter is more likely to be spent papercrafting than outdoors. Last week I created a few different projects using the Snowman Season Stamp Set for the November IDEAS Tutorial PDF. This latest ... VIEW POST
Blending Brushes For Simple Colour
My regular readers will know that I love colouring. Just recently I seem to have been obsessed with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. It's hard not to be when it's so easy to get great results, especially over larger areas. But that's not the only way to add colour to a project. Today's idea using a Blending Brush was one of those that just popped into my head. It's a lot less precise than Stampin' Blends but it certainly was worth the try. BLENDING BRUSH BACKGROUND I began with a 2" ... VIEW POST
