Where do you get your inspiration? Do you actively search for it, or does it creep up on you? Today's project was one of those that happened to me, rather than me deciding what to make. I've signed up with a few design challenge blogs to get their e-mails and that's where it all started. The Paper Players challenge this week is to use three specific colours to create a project. I could also add one more colour of my own choosing. From there I went looking for a leafy stamp set but got ... VIEW POST
Merci Chocolates For A Quick Treat
Sometimes its nice to say thank you with a treat. As a papercrafter I think it's even nicer to say thank you with a treat that's in a pretty package. So when I found a box of Merci chocolate (the stick kind) I couldn't resist. After a bit of trial and error I came up with this quick and easy idea using just a quarter sheet of cardstock. MERCI PACKAGE BASICS I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 2-3/4" x 8-3/8" piece of Soft Succulent Card. Then with the short side at the top I ... VIEW POST
Sweets & Treats For A Simple Project
After my World Card Making Day 24 hour marathon at the weekend I wanted to create something quick and easy to wind down. So what better way to practice my colouring and design ideas than on a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of card. Of course it certainly doesn't hurt that I can turn that strip into a bookmark with a punch and a bit of ribbon. So out came the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set and a bunch of Stampin' Blends alcohol markers... On my strip of Thick Whisper White Card I first needed to stamp ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Winter Scenes Won’t Be Long
So as the weather cools down and then warms up we're obviously heading into autumn. We're not quite into sweater weather yet, but it's coming. I think I'm ready, or am I? I suppose my problem is that the actual weather never quite lives up to the exciting or romanticised scenes I have in my head. The only one that comes close is winter after a fresh snowfall. This is of course until I have to start shovelling. It was for this reason that I couldn't resist the Peaceful Place 12" x 12" ... VIEW POST
Knit One, Emboss One, Tag Fun
Every now and then Stampin' Up! creates a stamp that's so amazing I believe everyone needs it. Knit Together from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue is one such stamp. As soon as I saw this image I knew it had to be included in my first order. Knit Together is a large background stamp that quite simply mimics a piece of knitting. What's more there's no special techniques needed to get an stunning effect, as my project today shows, KNIT TOGETHER This gift tag was actually one ... VIEW POST
Dressed To Impress With A Lipstick Or Two
Today's project was one of those happy accidents that happen from time to time. I was sorting through through some of my older but still available stamp sets and came across Dressed To Impress. This is such a fun set including a shoe, perfume bottle and flower images. But my favourite image is the lipstick. This set hasn't seen ink in a long time, so I decided to take a break from organising and make a quick project instead. COLOURFUL LIPSTICK I began with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of ... VIEW POST
