Happy Thanksgiving everyone. My project today is a way to be reminded of all the things we are thankful for. TWO PAPER DESIGNS I began this bookmark with two different sheets from the Come To Gather 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. One design was a pretty maple leaf pattern and the other was a simple lined design. I began with the maple leaf piece and wiped the bottom of the strip with an Embossing Buddy to remove any oils and static. Then I found the (almost) perfect ... VIEW POST
Peppermint Patty Pincher!
I thought I was being clever when I put an unopened pack of York Peppermint Patties in the fridge. The theory was it would stop me from snacking on them while I was crafting. Unfortunately I had not considered the peppermint patty pincher I am married to. So this morning I had no choice but to make this treat packaging, while I still had a peppermint patty to put in it! SECURING THE PEPPERMINT PATTY This peppermint patty packaging is really simple to make and works with lots of other ... VIEW POST
Copper And Blue, Just For You
My plan this morning was to create a large gift tag that could be used for a variety of occasions. I knew I didn't want flowers but instead wanted something suitable for anyone. In the end I think I succeeded with copper and blue and a "just for you' sentiment. JUST FOR YOU I began with the "Just for you" sentiment from the Meant To Be Stamp Set, stamped onto Very Vanilla Card using Night of Navy ink . To cut it out I chose the Stitched Shapes Dies, specifically the #3 square die ... VIEW POST
The Power Of 6×6 Paper
Are you frugal with your pretty patterned paper? I know I am. So this morning I set out to make a card with a coordinating envelope and gift tag from one 6x6 piece of paper. Why 6x6? Because Stampin' Up! sell paper in 6" x 6" and 12" x 12" (which makes four 6x6 pieces). Either way this means you could make 48 cards and 48 tags from one pack of DSP. Here's my first idea using paper that has a definite directional pattern. CUTTING THE 6x6 DSP The one thing that I can't change is the ... VIEW POST
Nature’s Beauty Sneak Peek
It's the end of another month and we're edging ever closer to the release of the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue. Today's sneak peek project is a simple bookmark using the new Nature's Beauty Stamp Set. PREPARATION I began with a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Thick Whisper White Card, shaped at the top using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. I wanted to create a subtle background for my deer image and so started by stamping it on the bookmark using Soft Suede ink. Then I stamped it again ... VIEW POST
An Inspiring Bookmark
As well as being a passionate papercrafter I'm also an avid reader. Although I do use an e-reader when I'm on holiday, I much prefer books printed on paper. Of course my regular blog readers will know that along with my book I always have a bookmark to hand. So when Stampin' Up! launches a new catalogue one of the first things I seek out are images or sentiments that I can make into a new bookmark. Today's project uses the Believe You Can (host) Stamp Set. This can be found towards the ... VIEW POST
