One week today will be Christmas Eve, and two week's today New Year's Eve! I'm sure that can't be right. Does anyone else think that time has is no longer flying by, it's positively supersonic? Today is also time for another What Will You Stamp? Challenge WWYS199 - Peaceful Poinsettia, and I've one final Christmas table idea for you, a pretty way to present the silverware (cutlery). WATERCOLOR PENCILS I simply love the Peaceful Poinsettia Stamp Set for its large sentiments and holly ... VIEW POST
Dotty Little Christmas
Here we go again, too many tasks and not enough time. So I've a very quick blog post with a really simple dotty Christmas card. DOTTY SIMPLE LAYERS I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card cut and scored using a Stampin' Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached a layer of Old Olive Card to the front of the card base. On top of that I attached a piece of the dotty pattern from ... VIEW POST
Merry Christmas Thinlits
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? Me, not so well. As usual I run out of time before I run out of tasks. So I thought the Merry Christmas Thinlits would be a great way to make some impressive cards fairly quickly. I began by using my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base. Next came the background layer. I lightly spritzed a ... VIEW POST
Tidings of Comfort & Joy
Today’s project was originally created by me back at the beginning of October as part of my personal World Card Making Day challenge to design and create 24 cards in 24 hours. Unfortunately since making this card the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper I used for the background has been discontinued. Now normally I’d not show you a project using retired products, but today I’m going to make an exception as the rest of the products including the comfort & joy sentiment are still available. I ... Sparkling Poinsettia
During my personal 24 cards in 24 hours challenge I tried a new (to me) technique using Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. The idea is to give the illusion of coloured Glimmer Paper by colouring on an acetate overlay. On my project I created a Christmas card featuring a sparkling poinsettia using the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies. I was reasonably happy with the results considering I was working against the clock, but there are a few things I'd do differently next time. SPARKLING ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Poinsettia Flag Day
Papercrafting is such fun, but it's not only about greetings cards. I make bookmarks, tags and gift packaging, and decorate notebooks and other items. I also use my Stampin' Up! supplies and tools to make decorative pieces for the home too. Today couldn't resist making this poinsettia flag decoration using some stunning new products from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. STRONG BASE I began by preparing the base, a raw wooden flag shape purchased ages ago at Michaels for under a dollar. It's ... VIEW POST
