So yesterday didn't go according to plan. My two projects were made a couple of weeks ago, they were even photographed and edited early. The blog was written and all I had to do was check it, make a few tweaks and then schedule it to publish at the appropriate time. Simple, except at 3pm yesterday afternoon I realised that it hadn't published at all! I attempted to rectify that via my phone but apparently that didn't work either. It was after 7pm AT before I could finally resolve the ... VIEW POST
Add A Simple Star For Christmas
I've already seen debates about whether it is too early to decorate for Christmas. It's 6 weeks away so perhaps it's time to start considering it. Some people decorate early because they know if they don't it simply won't happen. When I ran a daycare centre I remember getting home from work on Christmas Eve and staying up late to put up the tree and other decorations. I'd been so busy doing Christmas for the children at work I'd neglected my own family. I vowed to myself, never again! Of ... VIEW POST
Beauty & Joy Sneak Peek
Yesterday after my first sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue I went out for a drive. It's only the third week in August but already the trees are starting to show signs of a new season. While I'm not quite ready for summer to be over, I do love autumn colours. So that's what inspired today's project using the new Beauty & Joy Stamp Set. DISTINKTIVE OAK TREE I began this project by creating my little oak tree. Beauty & Joy is a two-step, Distinktive stamp ... VIEW POST
All The Good Things
OK I admit it, my last couple of projects have been quite involved. So today I want to scale things back quite a bit. After all you really don't need lots of fancy tools or difficult techniques to create lovely projects. The images on today's card might look fancy, but honestly the stamp does all the work. The All The Good Things Stamp Set is one of the new DistINKtive range from Stampin' Up! Tap the rubber stamp onto an ink pad then stamp, and the detailed image magically ... VIEW POST
Monochrome Lily for WWYS207
I've been playing with a lot of colour just lately, probably to offset the lack of bright colours in my garden. So I thought I'd embrace the outdoors for my Design Team project for this week's What Will You Stamp? challenge. The challenge is #WWYS207 Lasting Lily, showcasing a free stamp set from the 2019 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. First I chose my colour palette. Thick Whisper White for the card base and Whisper White for the stamped layers. I'd use just one ink colour, Memento Tuxedo ... VIEW POST
