Today's card project uses the Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder® and Accented Blooms Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I must admit though that it wasn't the products that kick started my project, it was two design challenges. Freshly Made Sketches FMS350 provided the layout, and Just Add Ink JAI422 the inspiration for the techniques used. Overall the project came together fairly quickly. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the uploading and editing of my project photos, ... VIEW POST
Good Luck Banners for You
There are so many occasions when it's appropriate to wish someone good luck that I was surprised how rarely I actually make good luck cards. In fact, even as I sat down in my craft studio this morning I had no plans for that. My vague idea was to create a card featuring a large focal point, with die-cut pieces adding interest and dimension. I settled on the Bouquet Bunch Framelits, and that lead to the coordinating Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set. Standing beside it on the shelf was the ... VIEW POST
Love what you do
Yesterday was an incredibly busy day made more difficult by the oppressive humidity. The highlight though was my 'Christmas in July' class where we had a lot of fun playing with stamp sets, dies and Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Stampin' Up! 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue. I'll be holding more classes featuring Christmas projects later in the year once the 2018 Holiday Catalogue is released. It was while preparing for my class I came across some other DSP and stamp sets that I probably ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Promenade
Yesterday I was searching for something entirely different when I came across a box of mini chocolates that I'd purchased last year in Amsterdam. The colours inspired me in my papercrafting this morning, and as I know I don't have any windmill images I pulled out the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set instead. I began by looking for an appropriate blue ink. Blueberry Bushel ink was a bit dark, but Bashful Blue was too light. To solve my problem I stamped the sentiment and separate blue ... VIEW POST
Kindness & Compassion
I blog every day, which means I design and make over 350 new projects every year, and I've been doing this for several years. That's a lot of papercrafting! I'm not always sure where I get my ideas from, and sometimes it can be as simple as picking up a stamp set or piece of patterned paper and just starting to play without any specific idea where it will take me. Other times it might be colours I've seen, or an occasion, often I'm influenced by my surroundings. Today I was most definitely ... VIEW POST
Beautiful promenade collage
I consider myself to be a life-long learner and love exploring You Tube and Pinterest for new ideas I can use in my papercrafting. Something I've long admired am still working on is collage-style backgrounds and when I saw the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I knew it would be perfect for this technique. It all began with a piece from the Tea Room 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack. This DSP pack contains 24 sheets (4 each of 6 different double sided ... VIEW POST
