Yesterday was a glorious day here in Nova Scotia. Hubby was finally able to repair the last of the winter storm damage and I can stop ‘reminding’ him about it. Meanwhile I got three full loads of laundry washed and dried outside. I may be a little odd but I love to see a line full of washing flapping in the breeze. With the chores done I also grabbed some time in my craft studio to create today’s simple Sunday project. Pale Papaya and Mango Melody provided the perfect combination. COLOURED ... VIEW POST
Happiness Abounds In Blue & Yellow
Apart from blue and white, one of my other favourite colour combinations is blue and yellow. That’s why I was immediately drawn to this pattern in the Hues of Happiness 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). There’s something really cheerful about this design, and I love the contrast between the bright flowers and the navy background. Just a simple panel of these flowers with a touch of gold ribbon and a few shiny embellishments was all I needed. Add in a simple punched sentiment and my planning ... VIEW POST
Happiness Is Not Always Blue
I have to admit that since I got my hands on the 2022-2024 In Colors I’ve been a bit obsessed with the new blue, Starry Sky. But who can blame me, it’s simply gorgeous. However I decided today it was time to do something completely different. So instead of bold blues I went with soft colours for a more romantic feel. The pretty florals of the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set was perfect for what I had in mind. In no time at all I had exactly what I had planned. HAPPINESS ABOUNDS I began this ... VIEW POST
Sneak Peek Recap And More!
At last it’s here! After lots of anticipation the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue is now live for customers. It’s been fun playing with the products I was able to get during the Demonstrator pre-order period. However starting today I now have the whole catalogue to choose from, and it’s hard to decide what to get first. I’ll probably order a couple of stamp sets, some stand-alone dies and maybe some more paper. But while I wrestle with that dilemma, here’s a quick recap of my recent ... VIEW POST
Celebrating With Painted Poppies
Did you know that this month marks 20 years since Stampin’ Up! came to Canada. I was still in the UK then and it would be another 8 years before I moved here and discovered papercrafting. Since becoming an independent demonstrator I’ve had the privilege of writing for Inspiration Canada, the Canadian demonstrators’ monthly newsletter. This month my editor challenged me to design a project using only colours that were available in 2002, So I chose Night of Navy and Real Red and created this ... VIEW POST
Putting Away The Masks
Yesterday’s project was a bookmark created with the help of a custom mask cut from a Post-It Note®. Today I decided to use a pre-made mask to create a very striking design with black ink on white card. Sadly Stampin’ Up! is retiring the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks, along with the embellishments and punch used today. However this weeks TGIF Challenge gave me the excuse to use them one last time. The result is this gender neutral thank you card that’s perfect for when someone really goes above ... VIEW POST
