This morning's project had started out with an idea for a very elaborate gift tag with lots of layers. But as so often happens, that's not what I ended up with. Instead my Picture Perfect Birthday tag was much more minimalist, but I love it just the same. SIMPLE COLOURS I began my gift tag with the #3 and #4 ovals dies from the Stitched Shapes Dies (the two largest). Using my retiring Big Shot I cut a piece of the retiring Berry Burst Card using the #4 oval die. Then I cut two of the ... VIEW POST
Flourishing Phrases for #WWYS215
It's Monday, and time for another What Will You Stamp? challenge. Of course as a member of the Design Team that means I have to come up with something to inspire you. The rules are the same, chose at least one stamp from the featured set and use it to create an inspiring project. This week the challenge is #WWYS215 Flourishing Phrases. So I decided to team that with a retiring stamp set to create a vintage-style wedding card. TIMELESS TEXTURES Although the challenge stamp set is ... VIEW POST
Vibrant Vases for #WWYS211
This week's What Will You Stamp? challenge is WWYS211 - Vibrant Vases. I love this set because it coordinates with the Vases Builder Punch. What's more the punch also coordinates with the Varied Vases Stamp Set in 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue. So you may be surprised to find that my Design Team project doesn't use the punch at all! HEAT EMBOSSING The flowers in the stamp set are so pretty and wanted to focus on those for my project. I also decided that I'd use no ink. That's right, I ... VIEW POST
Classic Cars
Have you ever thought how much we take for granted and how materialistic we have become? I love the idea of a simpler way of life which is why I enjoy living in rural in Nova Scotia. Being away from the hustle and bustle of the city, watching the changing of the seasons, suits me fine. When I saw the Classic Garage suite in the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue I was reminded of my childhood. Those were the days when having a car was a luxury, not a necessity. The same went for the ... VIEW POST
Lasting Sentiments
There are some stamp sets that I will probably never resell. Some are because I simply love the images, or I have a sentimental attachment to them. Mostly though it's because of the words. I find that while you can generally swap one image for a similar one, the same isn't true of certain sentiments. One of the sets that seems to be falling into that camp is Lasting Lily. Not only is the font gorgeous, but the phrases are timeless too. A BIT OF AN ACCIDENT The leafy background for ... VIEW POST
Faux Stained Glass
A little while ago I showed you a gift tag with a sparkling fish created using the Catch of The Day Stamp Set. That tag required the use of a Stamparatus stamp positioning platform and StazOn Jet Black ink. So today I wanted to show you another way to get that faux stained glass effect. STAINED GLASS THINLITS For this tag I decided to use the Stained Glass Thinlits to give me the thick black outline for my faux stained glass. First I fixed some Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to some ... VIEW POST
