Tuesday's the day when Stampin' Up! Demonstrators get news from the Home Office. Today we were advised that we have to say an early goodbye to some ink pads and refills. Fortunately the tag project I'd planned to show you doesn't include these inks so we'll start with that first. AN EMBOSSING FOLDER EXPERIMENT This was more of an experiment than anything else as I tried not to waste some damaged foil sheet. I began by trimming the Blueberry Bushel piece from the Nobel Peacock Foil ... VIEW POST
The Power Of Inked Embossing
The very first card I made as part of my World Card Making Day challenge was this good luck card. I have to say that it's one of my favourites. I'm not sure if it's the colour scheme or the very striking inked embossing folder, whatever it is I love it. GOOD LUCK This card and my challenge began with the good luck sentiment from the Believe You Can (Host) Stamp Set. I stamped the image onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card using Tuxedo Black ink, then set to work with my Stampin' Blends ... VIEW POST
Stylish Scroll Sneak Peek
After the last few winter / Christmas projects I thought my next sneak peek should be a little closer on the calendar. Once again I found it really hard to stick to one new thing from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue. So although my project uses four, I want you to concentrate on the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder. STYLISH SCROLL If you're not a Halloween person you might miss the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder on page 53 of the Holiday Catalogue. So I decided to use it for a ... VIEW POST
Half Full Humour
My regular blog readers will know that I can sometimes have a quirky sense of humour. I’ve also been known to ‘see’ things in my Stampin’ Up! supplies that others may miss. So I simply couldn’t help myself when I saw the snowmen in the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. With a little help from the Half Full Stamp Set and my Paper Snips I soon had one of my favourite Christmas card designs so far this year. PREPARING THE SCENE I began with a piece of Night of ... Merry Christmas Pop-Up Card
Yesterday I had a fun couple of hours in my craft studio with a very special guest, my granddaughter Alyssa. She'll be 8 next month and it was such fun to watch her design and create her own pop-up Christmas card. Let me say from the outset that this card was all her idea. She's been playing with the "pop-up" process at home and wanted to show me how to do it. All I did was show her how to put the pop-up layer inside another card to hide the mechanism. Then, apart from some very minor ... VIEW POST
Thanks Stampin’ Up!
On Sunday my daughter and granddaughter walked into our house after flying from the UK to surprise me, with the help of my hubby. So all my plans for this week have drastically changed. Today's blog post will be fairly short and sweet with a thanks cards and details of a special one day Stampin' Up! sale. THE CARD I began with the card base, a piece of Thick Whisper White Card cut and scored using my Stampin' Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with ... VIEW POST
