I’ve been counting down the weeks to Christmas for a while now and it can’t be ignored any longer. Today is November 25th and the big day is only a month away. I’m not sure how it snuck up on me but I may be officially in panic mode! It’s a good job I designed and made a stash of cards during my recent personal challenge. Today I have a Christmas card featuring squirrels. They aren’t usually associated with Christmas but somehow these particular squirrels just seemed the perfect fit. INKED ... VIEW POST
Wintry Embossing Two Ways
Woo hoo, I’ve finally received my new modem. It took me two attempts to get everything up and running (my ISP provider decided to rename my WiFi and change the password as part of the ‘repair’). So now I’m able to get back to my daily blogging schedule. I didn’t waste the time but instead decided to try out a few techniques on some new projects. Today I have two different ways to enhance your dry embossing. Both use the stunning snow design from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders ... VIEW POST
Beauty Of Dies
The beauty of papercrafting is that there are so many different ways to create projects. Of course that doesn’t mean every project I make is different. In fact I sometimes feel I can get fixated on one or two techniques and forget about all the other wonderful things I can do with the tools at my disposal. Today was not one of those days as I resurrected an oldie but goodie; the faux letterpress technique. All you need is your standard die-cutting machine, a die and a Silicone Craft ... VIEW POST
Leaf Fall Embossing
I must be honest and say that the design of this simple project was only half planned. You see I'd decided to create a "Thinking of you" card and reached for the appropriately named Go To Greetings Stamp Set. However when I opened up the stamp case I found some Basic White Card that had already been stamped with the largest of the Thinking of You sentiments in Tuxedo Black ink. It was obviously meant to be, so with the new Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder I set to work LEAF FALL First I ... VIEW POST
Penned and Pressed
Today’s project marks a huge milestone for me and one I never imagined I reach. This congratulations card is my card design number 2,500. In fact I’ve probably made quite a few more than that as I didn’t start numbering them right away. I have to say that my skills have most definitely improved over the 8 years or so that I’ve been papercrafting. I’m still not sure I have a ‘style’, but this card, using the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies, is definitely a ... VIEW POST
Highlighting The Fern
Sometimes I just need to start the day a little later. I’ve noticed as I get older that I can only push myself so far, then I need to reset by sleeping a little longer and taking the day at a much slower pace. That’s not always easy with several calls/meetings planned. You’ve probably guessed that today is one of those days. Still, I managed to create today’s card project between scheduled appointments. It’s a masculine / gender neutral “thinking of you” card with a bold fern embossed background ... VIEW POST
