When a product is retired by Stampin' Up! I stop using it on my blog projects. This is because I'd hate you to fall in love with something you can no longer buy. Many of these products are then sold off to make room for new things. But there are always exceptions for products that will definitely stay for my own private use. The Encircled In Beauty Dies fall into that latter category. I love being able to create doilies in any colour I want, and in multiple sizes too. ENCIRCLED IN ... VIEW POST
Celebrating You For An Anniversary
Every card maker needs a good set of basic sentiments. Over the years I’ve collected a lot of them. Mostly they’ve come as part of a set with images, but not all. My current favourite sentiment-only stamp set is Celebrating You. This set of 16 sentiments covers most celebrations, and the fonts used are simply gorgeous. They’re crisp and clear and neat (I'm not keen on many of the ‘looser’ script styles). Today I decided it was time to make an anniversary card, and Celebrating You was there ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Deer Encircled In Beauty
One week today it will be Christmas Day and the final rush has begun. No matter how well you plan there's always those last minute jobs that simply can't be done earlier. Like buying fresh fruit and vegetables for Christmas dinner. But then there's the jobs that have been on your list since last Christmas, like making sure you have enough gift tags for the gifts. A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Hope Box
Today I'm taking part in the monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month it's all about the August kit called Hope Box. JUST HOPE For my first project I wanted to create something that was pretty clean and simple. The result was this "Hope" card. I began with the pink splattered card base and 12" of the gorgeous Blackberry Bliss 1" ribbon from the kit. I wrapped the ribbon around the card front and secured the ends on the front in the centre using Tear & Tape ... VIEW POST
Birdhouses Are Better On Paper
One of the things I love about my little piece of Nova Scotia is that I'm surrounded by nature. No matter what the season there's always something going on in the garden. The other day we were treated to the sight of two baby raccoons exploring a rough area of our land. While we certainly don't want them setting up home in any of our buildings they're free to wander through. Birds are a lot less trouble, but providing birdhouses and feeders is still not a good idea. Our dear cat Houdini ... VIEW POST
