Today was another one of those days when I really had no idea what I was going to make. While I was waiting for the kettle to boil I checked my e-mails and found the inspiration I needed. The Paper Players have a sketch challenge this week and I immediately wanted to join in. However instead of using three rectangles as the dominant feature, I decided to switch things up using the retiring Stitched Triangles Dies. With some retiring Designer Series Paper (DSP) close at hand I set to ... VIEW POST
Tropical Layers Spawned Ric-Rac Trim
One of the fun things about cutting dies and embossing folders is finding new ways to use them. Sometimes I’ll be inspired by something I’ve seen elsewhere. Sometimes it’s noticing interesting shapes formed by pieces discarded on the desk. Today’s project idea came about while I was designing some new cards as part of an article I was writing for Canadian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. The project involved the Artfully Layered Stamp Set and coordinating Tropical Layers Dies. ... VIEW POST
Thoughtful In The Moment
Yesterday's birthday gift tag was all about the New Horizons Designer Series Paper (DSP) background. Plus of course, that cute stamped, punched and padded hedgehog. Today I decided to keep things clean and simple with another new stamp set called In The Moment. If you've enjoyed the Beautiful Moments or the (now retired) Beautiful You Stamp Sets, you'll love this one. This set has three large line art scenes with three sentiments. While the images are designed to be coloured, it's not ... VIEW POST
Friendship And Kind Thoughts Today
As the world marks the 20th anniversary of the attack on the twin towers in New York, so much has changed. And yet so little has changed too. I remember a colleague rushing in from the factory floor telling us to turn on the news. Then time stood still. Although we were in the UK we spent the rest of the day watching the news in disbelief as a terrible chapter in history was being written. But as the worst of humanity was being revealed, so too was the best. In Gander, a small town of ... VIEW POST
Grateful For Every Stampin’ Up! Friendship
One of the best parts of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the friendships I've made in Canada and across the world. When I'm in the UK I am grateful to be able to link up with Amanda Fowler (one of the top UK Demonstrators) and her team of Inspiring Inkees. They're a great team and always make me feel so welcome. Amanda is known for her love of all things blue and so I designed this simple card with her in mind using the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set. ENCIRCLED IN ... VIEW POST
Encircled With New Project Ideas
One of the things I love about new products is the opportunity to experiment with different techniques. That's not to say the techniques are new and unique, sometimes it's just something I haven't done in a while. It was only as I was finishing off today's project using the Encircled in Beauty Dies that an idea popped into my head. I have to say I'm really pleased with the result. ENCIRCLED IN FRIENDSHIP My project began with the "just a note to let you know that someone thought of ... VIEW POST
