One of the fun things about having a new set of In Colors added to the Stampin’ Up! range every year is it encourages me to revisit older (but still available) products. Today I decided it was time to break out the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set again. My original plan was simply to stamp one of the larger images and use the two-step stamping technique. However I simply couldn’t resist adding in a little heat embossing, before turning to the coordinating Penned Petals Dies. I’m very pleased with ... VIEW POST
Positive Thoughts And A Positive Test
Oh my goodness I just cannot get myself into gear today! Hubby and I had PCR tests done yesterday which confirmed the positive COVID results from the rapid tests on Monday. We’re both doing OK, lots of nose blowing mostly, although I have a sore throat that comes and goes. Self-isolation consists of watching the TV, reading, and a bit of crafting for me (although I’m easily distracted). Still, I did manage to design this “Hugs Prayers Love” card using the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and ... VIEW POST
Bring On Christmas With Sweets & Treats
There's only a week left of October and nine weeks today will be Christmas Day. So I have another Christmas card idea for you, and this time it involves a fancy fold. It`s true some fancy fold cards are quite complicated and involve lots of measurements and pieces, but not this one. This is one of the first fancy folds that I teach my beginner stampers and it's called an easel card. This particular design was one I made during my recent 24 cards in 24 hours marathon. EASEL FOLD ... VIEW POST
Meadow Dies Work Without Stamped Images
I love stamp sets and dies that coordinate. In fact when they're available I tend to buy coordinating products using a 'bundle' item number so I can save 10%. Mind you, that doesn't mean I always use coordinating products together. Oh no. In fact sometimes I go out of my way to see how these items can work by themselves. One of the die sets that really lends itself to this is the new Meadow Dies. that are available in a discounted bundle with the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. However the dies ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Sending Hearts
It's the last Thursday of the month and time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month we've been playing with the January kit called Sending Hearts. While it might appear to be a 'Valentines' kit, I have three alternate projects that can be used all year round. TWO FOR ONE My first two projects were created from one card base, the Poppy Parade one in fact. And it was the square pattern that inspired my design. First though I cut a 2" strip off the front of the card ... VIEW POST
Z-fold Simplicity With Luxurious Gold
Last month I made my first Z-fold card in a very long time. It's such an easy way to add interest to a card I have no idea why I don't do it more often. So when I was working on my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge I decided to make my last card a z-fold one. Z-FOLD BASE I began this project by creating a basic A2 card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored on the long side at 4-1/4"). Then I flipped the card over and with the other long edge at the top scored it at 2-1/8". Then it was simply a ... VIEW POST
