Today's been one of those morning where everything seems to be taking that much longer to do. I woke up with a pretty good idea of my project design, all I needed was decide on the paper and stamp set. With everything that's going on in the world I was immediately drawn to the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set. I haven't used this set in months but the "Hugs Prayers Love" sentiment just seemed appropriate. FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON I actually began today's project by looking through the ... VIEW POST
A New Year Means A New Calendar
Happy new year! How's it been for you so far? Us? Well we woke up to minus 4C and a heating system that wasn't working. Fortunately it was only the AA batteries that needed replacing in the programmer and we were able to get it up and running again. It did remind us however to buy a replacement for the other more specialised battery in case that one goes in the future. So before I forgot I wrote myself a note using my new 2021 easel calendar. This is the third or fourth year I've made ... VIEW POST
Last Of The Summer Flowers
Over the past few days the weather has definitely turned colder and the few remaining summer flowers in the garden have gone. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye so I have one large pot plant that we bring into the garage overnight. In the local fields everything has either been harvested or will be soon. Then it's the inevitable wait for the first snow and the change to a less colourful landscape. So with more muted colours in mind I created this simple get well card. FLOWERS FOR ... VIEW POST
Notebook collection grows again
My regular readers will know that I love a pretty notebook. Well I love any notebook really and have a lot of fun decorating them. Yesterday as I was playing in my studio with nothing specific in mind a notebook caught my eye. In fact it was a stack of notebooks, because why buy one when you can buy six, right? All I needed was some paper, some odd bits of card and a sentiment... PAPER AND CARD First came the poinsettia covered paper from the Flowers For Every Season 6" x 6" Designer ... VIEW POST
Tag Designs Don’t Need To Be Complicated
With all the card making I do I inevitably end up with small scraps of patterned paper and card. For the most part I keep these pieces as I hate to waste anything. So when I find my scrap collection getting out of control I often turn them into a tag or two, or three. TAG BASE For today's tag project I began with a 2" x 3-3/4" piece of Misty Moonlight Card. Using the Fancy Tag Topper Punch I shaped one end and set it aside. Then I punched the top of a 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of ... VIEW POST
Gift or card, or perhaps it’s both
Sometimes the simplest of ideas can turn into the prettiest projects. While playing with the Flowers For Every Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) I decided to make a Christmas Card. Of course I couldn't help but pull out the gorgeous poinsettia design for this. However, instead of starting with the card front I assembled the inside and envelope first. Then while looking at what was left of the DSP, an idea popped into my head. I'd turn it into gift wrap, and from there the card ... VIEW POST
