This morning’s papercraft project was inspired by a number of different ‘crafty’ posts that I’ve seen on social media over the past few days. These all caught my eye as they used black cardstock as their base. I was immediately struck by how the decoration really popped out against the black background. So having more Basic Black Card scraps around than I’d like, I decided to use some to create a Christmas gift tag. Also among my scraps I found a die-cut floral piece and it all progressed from ... Autumn Sadness
When I began cardmaking almost ten years ago I only had a few supplies. So in a desperate desire to make my meagre stash go as far as possible I began to experiment. While my stash has grown significantly I still love to make cards using white (or vanilla) and just one other colour. My first attempts were truly awful but thankfully I’ve refined the process using texture and layers. That was my plan while making this card featuring the retiring Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating ... VIEW POST
Early Signs Of Autumn
Today has been a bit of a mixed bag. My usual routine has been completely disrupted by a couple of important appointments and I’ve struggled to get back on track. Still, the drive into town was really pretty and I spotted quite a few trees making a head start on their autumn finery. While I often think of autumn as full of bright reds and oranges the early part of the season is more subdued. So this project hints at those subtle changes from green to peach and brown tones. Autumn Thank You
I’m having so much fun playing with the Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies. The main image is very large and there’s two different dies depending on how you want to cut it out. One die cuts the image into four parts, and I’ve created projects using some of these sections in earlier blog posts. So today I decided to use the complete image cut out in one piece using the alternative die option. The result is this pretty thank you card in soft autumn colours. SOFT ... VIEW POST
Autumn Bouquet Dies Part 3
I know I’ve said it before, but I love the Fond Of Autumn Stamp Set. First there’s a gorgeous large image that is perfect for a card front. Then there’s three smaller images that are great for decorating envelopes and the inside of cards. In addition there’s also a banner image and six sentiments. But what I love the most are the unusual features of the coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies. I showcased these dies in two previous blog posts, and today’s project is the last in this three part ... Autumn In The Air
With the year flying by I have some project ideas using pine cones collected from trees at the far end of our property. Unfortunately after ignoring that area for too long the grass is now about two feet tall making getting to the trees a challenge. So rather than wade through on foot I decided to tackle two tasks at once and mow a path through. My subsequent trip around the garden also revealed signs that autumn is on the horizon and it inspired me to create this acorn-decorated ... VIEW POST
