Where do you get your inspiration? Do you actively search for it, or does it creep up on you? Today's project was one of those that happened to me, rather than me deciding what to make. I've signed up with a few design challenge blogs to get their e-mails and that's where it all started. The Paper Players challenge this week is to use three specific colours to create a project. I could also add one more colour of my own choosing. From there I went looking for a leafy stamp set but got ... VIEW POST
Forever Blossoms For A Quick Wedding Card
Today's wedding card is so pretty and was really quick to make. If you're familiar with my card projects you'll know that I always decorate the inside and the envelope. I think it really makes the card seem special and doesn't take a lot of extra time. Still, when I picked up the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set to make this card I had an idea to speed things up even further. PRETTY BLOSSOMS I began with a 5-1/4" x 8" piece of Basic White Card lightly marked with a pencil on the long ... VIEW POST
Blending Something Old With Something New
With Christmas just ten days away hopefully most people are nearly done with their seasonal crafting and looking ahead. So today I decided to create a Valentine or wedding gift tag. My original plan was to continue to showcase products that are retiring and now only available while stocks last. But somewhere along the way a couple of new products crept into my hands. So today you get to see a new ribbon and a new ink blending tool that will be available from January 5th. FANCY TAG ... VIEW POST
Monochrome (Almost) For Simplicity
Today's project was inspired by a past one that I rediscovered yesterday. In it I had inked the inside of an embossing folder using a Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad. The result was an embossed background with the detail picked out by the lighter ink. This project made me want to create a new card with a monochrome palette. I switched things up a bit by using white on black which is simple but effective. As I went on I actually strayed from the monochrome idea, but the finished project is ... VIEW POST
Always Something New To Try
If there's something I've learned in my crafting journey it's that there's always something new to try. Take this morning for instance, I'd planned a simple background using some patterned paper edged with a little foil sheet. I cut a strip 1/8" wide as I always do, and then an idea popped into my head... What if I cut a slightly wider strip and embossed it? And the rest, as they say, is history. PAPER FIRST I actually started this project by choosing the very subtle Petal Pink ... VIEW POST
In Love With Soft Sponged Blossoms
Recently I've been playing with different ways to colour stamped images. I've watercoloured using both ink and pencils, and I've used Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write Markers. Today I wanted to bring you something different, and less formal. Sponged images. As usual I decided to test this technique on a smaller piece, and here's the bookmark I created. BASIC PREPARATION I began with a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card shaped at the top using the Scalloped Tag Topper ... VIEW POST
