Do you have 'go to' colour combinations you use over and over again? Petal Pink and Crumb Cake with either Mint Macaron or Soft Sea Foam is one I love. It has a wonderfully soft look that is so pretty. Yesterday I was trying to create a simple three colour combination with a vintage autumn feel. Stamping some different options onto strips of card allows me to keep my favourites close at hand to refer back to. But plans go awry and a simple mistake resulted in a forever favourite. FOREVER ... Forever Fern and Forever Flourishing
Sometimes when you have a very sore throat you just have to go with the flow... Like right now as I am fighting off a cold kindly given to me by my hubby. It's my granddaughters' first birthday today and twins were definitely on my mind. In fact this project is a collaboration with some additional input from my daughter, the twins’ Mummy. So with the cuddling koalas from the Count On Me Stamp Set and the Forever Fern and Forever Flourishing Dies close at hand, I set to work. COUNT ON ME ... VIEW POST
DSP Retiring While The Stamps And Dies Are Not
One of the things I like to remind my customers about is that almost all Designer Series Paper (DSP) retires at the end of the catalogue period in which they appear. This year, of all the DSP in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalogue only the In Good Taste 12" x 12" DSP is being carried over. For the most part I look forward to seeing new paper designs but there's one particular issue I want to highlight. This is that when a particular paper pack that's retiring coordinates with a stamp set, dies or ... VIEW POST
Forever Fern And A Bundle Reminder
Yesterday Stampin' Up! let Demonstrators know that sales of the Strawberry Builder Punch (and coordinating Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set) are exceeding expectations. As a result the punch is currently not orderable, and the next batch due shortly is not expected to last long. While it's certainly disappointing, there is some good news. Stampin' Up! also told us that the stamp set and punch will be in the new 2021/2022 Annual Catalogue. And what's more it will still be available as a discounted ... VIEW POST
I Love A Can Do Attitude
Last week I decorated a notebook with a pretty poinsettia patterned paper. As I finished the project I realised that my hubby could do with a notebook to keep track of all those little jobs that need doing around the house. So now he's had his vacation time approved I decided it was time to make that notebook. In fact I opted for a notepad with plain pages. That way he can include his little sketches and measurements for each job. Anything I can do to make his tasks easier is a bonus ... VIEW POST
Another Inked Embossing Folder
I'd like to be able to tell you what inspired today's card, but I can't. It was one of those occasions where I just pulled out a piece of pattered paper and started playing. I remember noticing the very dark pine needle branch and liking the contrast with the other greens. So that lead me to the black card base. I had absolutely no intention of using the inked-embossing folder technique when I started, but that happened too. Sometimes you just have to stop thinking too hard and go with the ... VIEW POST
