I often hear papercrafters say that they find making masculine cards a challenge. Flowery stamp sets work well for ladies and there's no shortage of them, but for the guys the choices tend to be a bit more limited. That's why I was so excited to see the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Gears Dies. These were released last spring and were carried over into the Annual Catalogue, but sadly the coordinating paper wasn't. That didn't stop me making this masculine card as part of my World ... When The Technique Gears Start Turning
Today's blog project is less of a project and more of a technique idea. You see I was playing around with the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and coordinating Garage Gears Dies. In my head I had a vague idea of creating a box and for some reason started with the embellishment. Before I knew where I was I'd created a large gift tag. GEARS TECHNIQUE IDEA #1 A few years ago Stampin' Up! had a colour called Baked Brown Sugar. It was a warm mid-brown and I used it a lot. I was reminded of ... VIEW POST
Mosaic Mood And Geared Up Garage
Today's What Will You Stamp? Challenge is #WWYS220 - Geared Up Garage. This stamp set is in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue and I was so happy when I it had been carried over into the new catalogue. Also carried over was the coordinating Garage Gears Dies and Classic Garage Metal Elements (silver wrenches / spanners and keys). Sadly though, the Designer Series Paper and black and silver ribbon didn't make the cut. So when I was thinking about my WWYS Design Team project for this week I ... VIEW POST
Classic Cars
Have you ever thought how much we take for granted and how materialistic we have become? I love the idea of a simpler way of life which is why I enjoy living in rural in Nova Scotia. Being away from the hustle and bustle of the city, watching the changing of the seasons, suits me fine. When I saw the Classic Garage suite in the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue I was reminded of my childhood. Those were the days when having a car was a luxury, not a necessity. The same went for the ... VIEW POST
You’re A Classic
My son-in-law is a vehicle mechanic and my father was an engineer, so it's no wonder I was drawn to the Classic Garage Suite in the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue. I've already made some masculine cards and gift tags using products from the suite, but today I decided do something a little different. I thought it would be fun to decorate a picture frame ready for a photo I'm having printed. YOU'RE A CLASSIC I began with some Thick Very Vanilla Card and a Tranquil Tide ink ... VIEW POST
When the gears finally engaged
One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! products is the coordination. They make it so easy to put projects together. Colours used on Designer Series Paper (DSP) is listed in the catalogue and on the packs. These match with the card , ink, ribbon and other accessories. Sometimes they go even further and match DSP patterns with stamp images and dies or punches. Well yesterday while creating today's project the gears finally engaged and forced me to change my project design. I've already ... VIEW POST
