Over the past month or so I’ve been trying out some new ideas with my colour schemes. More specifically, experimenting with using fewer colours on my projects. It was a concept I saw on Instagram, and the notion of less colour being more visually attractive really intrigued me. Overall I’ve been quite pleased with the finished projects that have an elegant simplicity I hadn’t expected. Today’s project features the Give It A Whirl Dies and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder using just Very Vanilla, ... VIEW POST
Thoughts Of Love
Over the past few weeks I’ve made quite a few birthday and thank you cards so today I wanted to do something different. That said, it was only after finishing that I realised it was another project using the Earthen Elegance 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). Still, it seemed like the perfect gender-neutral background to show off my column of die-cut hearts. For the sentiment it was back to the aptly named Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. The finished result was most certainly a labour of love ... VIEW POST
Moody Mauve
I was attracted to the five new 2023-2025 In Colors from Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw them. There’s something about these earth tones that just captured my imagination, and I was immediately sad that they’d only be around for two years. The first one that really caught my eye was Moody Mauve. I’ve always thought of mauve as a purple but this has more of a pink tone. Regardless of the name I love it and decided to create a card using nothing else (except white and gold). MAUVE HEARTS I ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: Give It A Whirl
It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for the IDEAS Blog Hop. This month our Tutorial PDF bundle is all about “cards that move” and there are some amazing ideas. My contribution is an interactive card project using the Give It A Whirl Dies. For my blog post though I wanted to show you another use for these dies when you don’t want to make an interactive card. Extra parts and pieces makes the set really versatile as my baby card shows to great effect. CUTE ELEPHANT ... VIEW POST
Delicate Desert Wrap
It’s Groundhog Day and blooming freezing outside! I’ve just checked Shubenacadie Sam’s Facebook page and she ventured out just long enough to predict six more weeks of winter. Not that I mind, that means six more weeks of keeping warm and entertained in my craft studio. When I was shopping recently I came across a little box of Lindor chocolates that gave me an idea for a Valentine’s Day project. So this morning, having found some coordinating paper in the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper ... VIEW POST
Stepping Stones
At the end of last week I received my latest group order and in it was a new stamp set just for me. It’s called Stepping Stones and it’s been on my wish list since I first saw it in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. The set is very simple and contains just six stamps, all quotations. I especially love the size of them and they’ll be perfect for inspirational cards, memory albums and other special projects. To start I decided to use a Stepping Stones sentiment on this ... VIEW POST
