It seems to me that just lately my projects aren’t quite going according to plan. Not that it’s a bad thing, but simply that while I may start out with an idea for a project somehow it seems to take on a life of its own. For instance, for today’s thank you card I had every intention of using an embossing folder to add texture to the patterned paper. However before I knew it I’d stamped on the paper using the Decorative Borders Stamp Set and coloured it in instead! QUARTER SHEET My card ... VIEW POST
Decorative Simplicity
With pretty sentiments like those in the Go To Greetings Stamp Set designing a card project can be challenging. If I want the sentiment to stand out I tend to go for much simpler backgrounds and layouts. That might involve a subtle paper pattern. Or I’ve used a plain card background layer with an embossed texture for added interest. Today though I decided to pull out my new Decorative Borders Stamp Set. With a tried and tested navy and white colour scheme this elegant birthday card came together ... VIEW POST
Petal Park For The New Year
So how’s your day going so far? Mine has been slow but frustrating. You see I had a project planned for you, but when I went to get the key component I just couldn’t find it. I know I put it somewhere safe so I wouldn’t lose it, however it appears not to have been the most logical location. I’ve looked in all the obvious places and suffice to say it wasn’t there. So instead here’s a pretty birthday box using the new Petal Park Stamp Set and coordinating punch. PETAL PARK BUNDLE The box ... VIEW POST
Moment Of Simplicity
Something I hear people say quite often is that they struggle to colour stamped images. For this reason they avoid sets where the images have large open areas obviously designed for this purpose. From personal experience I know that this gets easier the more you practice but sometimes it’s good to get back to basics. So when I was working on my personal 24 cards in 24 hours challenge I came up with a simple design that’s easy to copy, using the In The Moment Stamp Set and Stampin’ ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: By My Side
It’s time for another IDEAS blog hop where this month our theme is “We are cut out to be friends”. For this theme we were asked to create projects that focused on cutting. Of course there are lots of different ways that cutting is used in papercrafting but mostly I concentrated on fussy cutting. I created two projects for this month’s IDEAS tutorial bundle; a card and a fridge magnet. Then I created a second card for my blog. All three projects feature the cute By My Side Stamp Set. Florets Of Poppies Today
Did you look at the Framed Florets Stamp Set and see poppies? No me neither until this morning as I was thinking about what I should make for today’s blog post. I suspect that as poppies have been very visible these past few weeks I’ve been reminded of their shape. So in honour of Remembrance Day I designed this “Thinking of you” card. It’s a simple layout made special by the addition of black heat embossing. But to prevent damage to the glossy embossing I needed to utilise my ... VIEW POST
