This morning I decided to revisit the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set with a different technique. I wanted soft to create a soft and delicate look and thought watercolour pencils might be perfect. Of course that was after I'd stamped the image using Stampin' Up! Classic Stampin' Ink! This ink is not waterproof so I had to change my plans slightly. I still used watercolour pencils, I simply left out the water part. DRY WATERCOLOUR PENCILS To create today's project I began with two ... VIEW POST
Doing A Little Frosted Frames Surgery
My regular blog readers will know that I love extending the possibilities with my stamp sets. But I don't think I do it very often with dies. So today I thought I'd show you how I made the retiring Frosted Frames Dies useful all year. FROSTED FRAMES This project all started when I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix some of the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper to some Very Vanilla Card. Then I cut the layers out using the large fancy die from the Frosted Frames ... VIEW POST
Warming Up For A Card Making Marathon
Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and today I made a decision. Every year since 2015 (with the exception of 2017) I've marked the occasion with my own personal card making marathon. I set myself the challenge to design and create from scratch 24 cards in 24 hours. This year I've been in two minds about whether to repeat the event as I have an all day commitment on Sunday so I won't be able to catch up on my sleep. This morning however I decided that I'd go ahead but with a slight change. ... VIEW POST
Let The Paper Do The Work
It's been a busy morning and I've already made two projects so far, with more on the way. Of course that meant I had to decide which one to show you today and I chose this magnolia one. I've been on a bit of a colouring binge just lately so I let the Magnolia Lane 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) do the work today. MAGNOLIA LANE DSP This project all started with the striped background. While I love the floral patterns in the Magnolia Lane DSP I really wanted to showcase some of ... VIEW POST
Enjoy Canada Day
We're now halfway through the year and today is Canada Day. Here in Nova Scotia it's grey and raining, and well below seasonal temperatures, not ideal for a celebration. Still there's a good chance that it will improve later so people can enjoy the fireworks. Let's hope so. ENJOY TODAY For my project today I decided to create a pretty gift tag using the Good Morning Magnolia bundle. I began with a 1" x 3-3/4" strip of Shimmery White Card and used Old Olive ink to stamp the "Enjoy ... VIEW POST
Final Challenge from What Will You Stamp?
After almost four and a half years and 225 different stamp sets, today is a sad day as we say goodbye to the What Will You Stamp? Challenge. I've been a member of the WWYS Design Team since September 2016 and have loved every minute of it. Using stamp sets that weren't necessarily my style has really pushed me creatively, and I will be forever grateful for the friendships I have made. So for the final What Will You Stamp challenge we chose WWYS225 - Good Morning Magnolia. NEW WATERCOLOR ... VIEW POST
