While I’ll admit to sometimes making my daily blog project at the very last minute, I do try to work at least a few days ahead. This takes the stress off, but sometimes it adds to it. That’s because I don’t like showing you something that you can’t actually buy right away if you want. So today’s project has been on my mind for a while but hampered by the ribbon being temporarily out of stock. Thankfully it’s back and I can finally show you this pretty decorated gift box. Hand-Penned In New Colours
One of the fun things about having a new set of In Colors added to the Stampin’ Up! range every year is it encourages me to revisit older (but still available) products. Today I decided it was time to break out the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set again. My original plan was simply to stamp one of the larger images and use the two-step stamping technique. However I simply couldn’t resist adding in a little heat embossing, before turning to the coordinating Penned Petals Dies. I’m very pleased with ... VIEW POST
Romance Was Top Of Mind
You know it’s funny the things that come to mind as I’m considering new projects to make for my blog. Take the other night... I was thinking about bookmarks and the kinds of books people read. I’m a fan of medical thrillers especially by Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs, but I do like other genres too. And then it occurred to me, what about having a different bookmark tailored to each genre! So to kick off that idea I designed this pretty bookmark that’s perfect for all those romance ... VIEW POST
Doing The Hand-Penned Two-Step
I don’t get ill very often, but when I do it really seems to hit me hard. Right now I’m fighting off a nasty cold and sore throat and it’s given me a really fuzzy brain. Concentrating on anything for more than a few minutes at a time is a real challenge. Even my crafting is taking much longer than normal. Today I’ve made a thank you card using the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies, with another example of an edge die you may have ... VIEW POST
Sentimental Swirls For A Simple Card
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love the new Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set. There’s something really satisfying about stamping those bold outlines. They look good just as they are, or coloured in using a variety of techniques. What’s more, the flowers and one of the leaves coordinate with two punches although they’re certainly not essential. However for today’s simple Sunday project I wanted to concentrate on the largest of the swirls. With some patterned paper and a little ... VIEW POST
Elegantly Said For A Simple Sunday Card
So the several inches of snow that fell earlier this week has all gone thanks to Mother Nature and a deluge overnight. I love it when we don't have to shovel the white stuff off the driveway. The plus 14C on the thermometer is also a welcome change from the minus 13C we saw just a few days ago too. It hardly seems possible that two weeks from today Christmas will be over. So for today's simple Sunday project I wanted to bring you something more spring-like. This card, featuring the ... VIEW POST
