Today's going to be another busy day for me, so once again I'll have to be quick with my blog. My starting point for today's card was a desire to create a simple masculine birthday card. The twist was to add texture, without using special tools or techniques. TEXTURE CHEAT To get the texture I wanted while keeping the card really simple I turned to the new In Good Taste 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. With Cinnamon Cider as the base for my card I decided to look for a ... VIEW POST
An Interesting Morning In The Country
To say it's been an interesting morning here in my little corner of Nova Scotia would be a huge understatement. This morning we awoke to find that there was an "active shooter" incident in progress just about 3kms up the road! Everyone has been told to stay inside, lock their doors and report anyone on their property. They are still searching for the suspect who is considered armed and dangerous. And there I was thinking that living in the country would be quiet and uneventful. I have no ... VIEW POST
#SimpleStamping And 6″ x 6″ Paper
I love the concept of #simplestamping introduced to Demonstrators by Stampin' Up! last year. The premise is quite straightforward; projects for beginner/occasional papercrafters that need no fancy techniques or expensive tools. It wasn't a new concept for me as I'd been doing my "simple Sunday" projects for several years prior. Even now I enjoy designing simple projects that anyone can do. It often gives me an excuse to show off and use gorgeous patterned paper. Today's project uses just ... VIEW POST
Staying Here And Crafting With Poppies
I have a very full day ahead of me so my project will be short and sweet. I decided today I needed a new Post-It® Note holder. So with a little help from some pretty poppies, this what what I came up with SIMPLE BASE I began by making the simple base for the 3" x 3" Post-It Note pad using Poppy Parade Card. To do this I used my Paper Trimmer to cut the card to 3-1/4" x 7-1/8". Next with the long side at the top I scored the card at 4" and 4-1/2". Then I folded it along the scored ... VIEW POST
Parisian Blossoms Specialty Paper Sneak Peek
With less than 2 weeks until the Stampin' Up! January to June Mini Catalogue goes live it's time to get going on my sneak peeks. Today after a well deserved lie-in I created this birthday card for my Simple Sunday project. It showcases the new Parisian Blossoms 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. PRETTY FOILED PAPER I began with one of the sheets from the Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP with champagne foil accents. First I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to ... VIEW POST
Sympathy With Feathers And Lace
I've been having a lot of fun at local craft fairs over the past couple of weeks. It's always nice to meet other crafters and get feedback on what I make. What has been sad though is the number of people who have been asking for sympathy cards. So I've had to make quite a few more to restock my card racks. This is once of my recent designs. FULL PATTERNED FRONT I began this sympathy card by choosing the feather pattern from the Come To Gather 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) ... VIEW POST
