It’s the weekend and it looks like it’s going to be a lovely day. That’s a good thing as my granddaughter and I have plans to visit a Powwow. I’ve never been to one before and am not sure what to expect. However I’m sure I’ll be taking lots of photos. So to store our memories I decorated this large notebook with a very tactile wood-effect background using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. All it took was card and ink, along with a second run through my Cut & Emboss Machine. My project ... VIEW POST
Metal Plate
And still it rains! An abundance of water and warm temperatures has us in a cycle of foggy mornings and humid days. It’s great to see the plants flourishing, but it would be nice to be able to enjoy the garden from the other side of the window! Meanwhile it’s the perfect excuse for me to stay in and craft. Today’s project is a gender-neutral card with texture courtesy of the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder. However using the ‘debossed’ side gives a 'fish scale' look to this simple ... VIEW POST
Zoo Crew Inspiration
I’m not entirely sure lions like toasted marshmallows, however that’s one of the fun scenes included in the Zoo Crew 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Like most of the individual animal images on the various sheets there’s only a little bit of colour, but for me that’s one of the big attractions. You see it means that I have the option to add more colour if I want. In fact it’s something I’ve done a few times using Stampin’ Blends and I simply love the final effect. CAMPING AT THE ... Missing Dies And More
Whenever there’s a new catalogue I go through my old one and write against each item whether it’s retiring or carrying over (R or c/o). Then I double check any products that have neither marking. So that’s how I discovered 12 items that are not in the new catalogue or on the Last Chance List. My feeling is that they’ll join others in the new ‘Online Exclusives’ section of the website, but we’ll only know for sure on May 2nd. The Mini Pocket Envelope Dies is one of those products. DIES FOR ... VIEW POST
Tailor Made
One of the amazing things about papercrafting is the endless possibilities. Even though I may have used a product multiple times simple changes can make it seem fresh and new again. The masculine He’s The Man suite was new in the 2022/2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue but it seems like we’ve had it longer. The year before we were treated to the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I love these dies and have used them to tailor make other shaped pieces like the sentiment label on this Father’s Day gift ... VIEW POST
Stylish Classic Car
Yesterday was glorious with temperatures in the double digits and wall-to-wall sunshine. Last week’s snow melted away, and we finally had a little spring sneak peek. Today however is a different day, and as this is Nova Scotia winter hasn’t finished with us quite yet. Today’s forecast includes six hours of ice pellets and freezing rain. That won’t be fun, as thick ice coating the trees and power lines has the potential to knock out the power. So while I finish preparations for that, here’s a ... VIEW POST
