It’s Christmas Eve Eve and happiness is knowing we’re ready for a coming storm. The extreme winter weather that’s currently gripping most of Canada and the US is expected to arrive here later today. Fortunately we’re being spared the extreme cold, but it’s the wind and rain that has us worried. It’s possible that trees already weakened by Hurricane Fiona in October could bring down power lines. Having been left without power for 10 days then, we’re not taking any chances this time around. ... VIEW POST
Hues Of Purple Post-Its®
At this season’s craft fairs the notebooks and pads I’d created were really popular. People were buying them because they make great stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts. What’s more, apart from being useful they don’t add to the ‘stuff’ that becomes clutter. After all, once the notebook or pad is used up the cover can simply be recycled. So today I began making replacements to sell in the bazaar. Having found a pretty purple Post-It Notes® pad I reached for the gorgeous Hues of Happiness ... VIEW POST
No Hippo Today
In my blog post yesterday I pointed out that there are acorn and oak leaf dies in the Fond of Autumn Dies, and that these pair beautifully with the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set. Today I have another of these coordination surprises to show you. This time while making a birthday card using the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP) I thought the flowers looked familiar. So I went on a little hunt. Eventually I found dies that matched the flowers in an unexpected place, the Hippo Dies ... VIEW POST
Elephant Is A Mammal
With all the focus on retiring lists and new catalogues it’s been ages since I’ve joined a design challenge. I like challenges as they often make me think outside the box or encourage me to try new things. This morning I noticed the Just Us Girls Challenge #639. It’s word week, and the word was "mammals". That gave me just the excuse I needed to pull out the Elephant Parade Stamp Set and start colouring. But as I looked for an interesting background, things became a great deal more ... VIEW POST
Blossoming Happiness Die-Cutting
One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! is their dedication to product coordination. So I know when I choose one of their 50 exclusive colours it will match with other items in the same colour. In addition, many of their stamp sets are designed with coordinating tools and/or paper. Take the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set, there’s dies to cut out some of the images, plus those same dies cut out images on the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP) too! This was my starting point for today’s ... VIEW POST
Artfully Painted Background
Despite all the cards I have to hand, occasionally I still have to create one in a hurry. This was one of those times. All I needed was a gender-neutral ‘support’ kind of card but I needed it right away. My fall-back is often Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs. The DSP is almost always double-sided so I get twice the options. Eventually, with an abstract painted background from the Hues of Happiness pack and a bold sentiment from the Artfully Layered Stamp Set, this card was the ... VIEW POST
