Well it’s the end of November and the eve of the Last Chance promotion. So beginning tomorrow selected products being retired from the July to December Mini Catalogue will be on sale at up to 60% off. But don’t be fooled, in reality there’s only a limited number of items not retiring. As is common, all of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is going, including the Splendid Day Specialty DSP. I particularly liked this pack as the colours in pearlised and foiled patterns were great for all sorts of ... VIEW POST
Hydrangea Inspiration
Yesterday like so many people I was up early to watch the State Funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I’m originally from the UK and lived most of my life just 4 km (2-1/2 miles) from Windsor Castle. As the funeral procession wound through London and later through the countryside I saw places that were all too familiar to me. It was a day that will never be forgotten. So today’s project was inspired by some of the flowers in her wreath and features the Hydrangea Haven Stamp ... VIEW POST
Sun Prints Script
When I think of the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP) I automatically think of blue. Then I remember that I can get many of the same patterns in four other colours in the Pretty Prints DSP pack. But what I have to remind myself is that there’s also a more delicate option. All I have to do is flip over the blue sheets for some softer Gray Granite patterns. So that’s what did to use up a small scrap of paper on this modern looking “for you” gift tag. SUN PRINTS START As it was the ... VIEW POST
Never A Lovely Scrap Wasted
I'm a bit of a frugal papercrafter. I'm one of those people who struggle to throw anything away just in case it could be useful. Thankfully I also don't like having stuff everywhere so that curtails my hoarding somewhat. My Mum used to say "A place for everything, and everything in its place". That means having a system for storing and/or using up the lovely little pieces I created but never actually used. Today's project is a case in point, a leftover die-cut flower quickly became a pretty ... VIEW POST
Penned Flowers For A Pretty Accent
Today's project was the result of another one of my "using up scraps" afternoons. It actually started with the pretty background piece that was left over after I decorated a small treat box. From there I didn't really have a plan other than to find some coordinating colours and pretty shapes. Once I'd decided to use the Penned Flowers Dies for the main accent it all came together very quickly. BACKGROUND LAYERS Taking my cue from the 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" scrap from the Blackberry Beauty ... Hydrangea Hill Makes A Quick And Easy Card
I'm going to be honest and say that when I first saw the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (DSP) it didn't make it to my order wish list. I was definitely attracted by the colour palette that includes Seaside Spray and Highland Heather. I also liked the 'background' patterns too. But what put me off was the large flower images. So how odd then that having bought the paper, it's the large hydrangea patterns that I've used the most. Rather than being difficult to work with I've actually ... VIEW POST
