Today is Heritage Day here in Nova Scotia. It serves as an annual reminder of the people, places and events that make up our Province’s unique history. It’s one of the few Statutory Holidays here and so most businesses are closed. Interestingly though it’s not a federal holiday, so federal offices and federally regulated businesses like Canada Post remain open. Other provinces also mark the third Monday in February although with a different name e.g. Family Day. Regardless, it’s good to take a ... VIEW POST
Another Timeless Idea
So yesterday’s storm wasn’t quite as bad as we’d expected. Rain, then freezing rain, followed by tiny ice pellets and finally some snow. Today the forecast is for sun, but the temperature will remain below freezing. In my mind that means Mother Nature wants me to stay indoors, so I’ve decided to spend the day crafting. I have a number of Kits Collection kits I want to explore more, like Timeless Greetings. While I could create projects following the included instructions, it’s fun to experiment ... VIEW POST
Moment Of Simplicity
Something I hear people say quite often is that they struggle to colour stamped images. For this reason they avoid sets where the images have large open areas obviously designed for this purpose. From personal experience I know that this gets easier the more you practice but sometimes it’s good to get back to basics. So when I was working on my personal 24 cards in 24 hours challenge I came up with a simple design that’s easy to copy, using the In The Moment Stamp Set and Stampin’ ... VIEW POST
Moment Of Inspiration
Although I love the excitement of getting a new stamp set I still enjoy revisiting older ones. Today was one of those days as I was thinking about a new bookmark. With the nights already starting to draw in I’m going into hibernation mode, and reading forms a big part of that. So that’s what made me think of the In The Moment Stamp Set and one particular image. From there I began to look for a different sentiment and I decided that “Peace Joy Love” summed it up perfectly. ALTERED DIE-CUT ... VIEW POST
Caught Up In The Moment
I’ve always been enthralled by nature, and even more so since moving to Nova Scotia. We’re very fortunate to have a large piece of land that attracts all sorts of wildlife. Just recently we’ve been treated to daily visits from a number of white tailed deer and today was no exception. Although I counted 10 deer eating at various spots, what caught my attention was something just off to the side, two small fawns hidden in the long grass. At that moment I couldn’t help but simply stand and ... VIEW POST
Taking A Moment To Read And Relax
Thank heavens it's finally Friday! This week has seemed to go on forever, but somehow there's still a lot on my to do list. My plan today is to warm up with a few easy jobs before attacking one of the larger ones. Then as a reward I may take 30 minutes to recharge with a good book. I'm a 'real' book kind of person, and of course that means I need a proper bookmark. Here's one I made a few days ago using the In The Moment Stamp Set. IN THE MOMENT As soon as I saw it I knew I'd have ... VIEW POST
