One of the problems with the Mini Catalogues is that it's really easy to think certain products can only be useful in certain seasons. Take the Little Treat Box Dies for instance, you may thinks they're really for Halloween or Christmas treats, but they ca be so much more. Today's project was inspired by thoughts of Valentine's Day or a dramatic wedding colour scheme. SCRIPTY EMBOSSING In my previous projects using the Little Treat Box Dies I've tried different techniques: a ... VIEW POST
Winter Snow Won’t Last For Long
Two weeks today will be Christmas Eve and a week later the last day of 2020. So I suppose I shouldn't be too upset that winter appears to have arrived. As I sat down to make today's project the snow was gently falling outside. Not a lot, but enough to leave a dusting on the ground. I think it's due to warm up a little so it's unlikely to stay for long. Later in the week? well that might be a whole different ballgame. With the snow outside I decided today's project should be a Christmas ... VIEW POST
Tasteful Textile For A Unique Pine Cone
My regular readers will know that I love getting more from my crafting supplies. Today's project features an experiment using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to give my pine cone a very unique look. TEXTILE BACKGROUND Before getting to the pine cone though I first needed to prepare the other parts of the project. For this I chose a woven textile design from the In Good Taste 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some ... VIEW POST
Z-Fold cards really aren’t that difficult
Just recently it occurred to me that while I design three or four cards every week all year long, I rarely show you 'fancy folds'. My card bases tend to be the basic piece of card folded in the middle and I've resolved to try and be a little more imaginative. So today I've added an extra scored line to create a simple Z-fold card. Z-FOLD CARD BASE Creating a z-fold card base is really simple and I usually prepare mine so it's the same size as a normal A2 card. Today I started by ... VIEW POST
Snowflakes – stamped, embossed and die-cut
It may still be August but there was a definite autumn feel in the air this morning. Before we know it summer will be a distant memory, and I have a feeling winter may come early this year. It is 2020 after all! So today I decided to create a winter card using new products from the Snowflake Splendor Suite. By the time I'd finished I'd stamped, embossed and die-cut snowflakes to create this pretty project. WINTER SNOW I began with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and a Whisper White ... VIEW POST
Another Inked Embossing Folder
I'd like to be able to tell you what inspired today's card, but I can't. It was one of those occasions where I just pulled out a piece of pattered paper and started playing. I remember noticing the very dark pine needle branch and liking the contrast with the other greens. So that lead me to the black card base. I had absolutely no intention of using the inked-embossing folder technique when I started, but that happened too. Sometimes you just have to stop thinking too hard and go with the ... VIEW POST
