I’m feeling a little better and hopefully the worst of this cold it behind me. Yesterday was one of those ‘go with the flow’ days, just doing what I could as I felt able. Lots of rest and plenty of fluids too. It’s definitely autumn here now, although the blaze of colour we’re used to is definitely lacking. Hurricane Fiona certainly cheated us when she tore the leaves from the trees. But nature rebounds and a butterfly inspired me to create this project using the By My Side Stamp Set. BY MY ... A Paper Pumpkin Thing: Sweet Sunflowers
It’s the first Friday in September and that means I’m taking part in the A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month I’m excited to bring you a couple of alternate projects using the August Paper Pumpkin kit called “Sweet Sunflowers”. This amazing kit was chock full of prepared pieces. These included printed card bases and envelopes with gorgeous watercolour images that were hand-painted by one of the designers at Stampin’ Up! If you missed out on the kit I hope my designs will inspire you to ... VIEW POST
Summer Meadow
It’s going to be another one of those hot and humid days. With a heat warning in place I’ve just closed up all the windows and drawn the curtains. That should keep the house relatively cool as the temperature begins to climb. Later, once it starts to cool again and the onshore breeze picks up, I’ll open up the house again. In the meantime I shall be mostly crafting. Today’s project was inspired by the pretty butterflies I saw while mowing a path through our flower meadow at the ... VIEW POST
Splendid Day For A Sneak Peek
It may only be Tuesday but it already feels like it’s been a very long week. I’m so tired and wonder if I’m coming down with something. So for today’s sneak peek I created a get well card featuring the Splendid Day 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). On one side of each sheet are simple, printed designs that are great for card layers. But on the back of each one are gorgeous patterns that are faux heat embossed in white on a pearlised or shiny foil background. SPLENDID ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: Honeybee Home
It’s the first Monday of the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “cards that move” and fifteen of us have taken part. I decided to create my project using the Honeybee Home Stamp Set and coordinating Honeybee Blooms Dies. In the IDEAS Tutorial Bundle PDF my card has a double pop-up mechanism inside. Here on my blog there's a coordinating standard card. For both projects I opted to use Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil ... VIEW POST
Quiet Meadow Thoughts Of Spring
It’s funny how a little bit of sunshine and blue sky can raise the spirits. While I’m still in COVID self-isolation I’m enjoying the first signs of spring. Today we were treated to the sight of a dozen white-tailed deer in the area behind our house. The birds are out, and so was one of our resident red squirrels. I love living in rural Nova Scotia with all the wildlife that comes to visit. We’re working on creating a flower meadow in the back field and that inspired ... VIEW POST
