Some days run smoothly and others not so much. The way my morning’s gone so far I have a feeling today’s going to turn out to be a little on the bumpy side. Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. When I got home yesterday there was my new Stampin’ Up! 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue. Yay! So I’m using that as my treat between tasks. There’s nothing like a little incentive to focus the mind. But first here’s my card project, combining two retiring stamp sets; Inspired Thoughts and Decorative ... VIEW POST
Pretty Simple Poppies
Apparently there’s a big snowstorm coming today. I’ve somehow managed to miss watching the weather forecast the past couple of days and it’s caught me by surprise. Thankfully today’s simple Sunday project was made some time ago. In fact it’s the last one from my personal '24 cards in 24 hours' challenge to mark World Card Making Day. I used two stamp sets to make this easy sympathy card. First, Painted Poppies which is an image-only set. Then I chose one of my favourite sentiment-only stamp sets ... VIEW POST
Delicate Inspiration
As we quickly approach the announcement of which products will be retiring I’m keeping a close eye on items showing ‘low inventory’. That’s because there’s a real chance once the current stock has gone there will be no more. One pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that’s not at risk (yet) is the Delicate Desert 12” x 12” paper. I bought it even though the Desert Details Stamp Set and coordinating dies didn’t appeal to me. I haven’t been disappointed by this paper which inspired me to create ... VIEW POST
Inspired 24 Times Over
Oh my goodness what a weekend I’ve had and it stretched right into Monday! On Saturday I attended my first craft fair of the season at Wentworth, Nova Scotia. Then on Sunday I started my delayed World Cardmaking Day challenge. This is where I challenge myself to design and make 24 different cards in 24 hours. It was close, but I made it with minutes to spare. Each card will be showcased here over the coming weeks, starting today with number 7 of 24, using the Inspired Thoughts Stamp ... VIEW POST
Inspired Simple Sympathy
Yesterday I had a great day selling my finished projects at the Christmas Craft Fair in Wentworth, Nova Scotia. Despite the forecast torrential rain (courtesy of post-tropical storm Nicole), almost 500 people turned out to buy local. I’m always interested to see people’s reactions to the things I’m selling. Sadly one of my most popular items was sympathy cards, with customers saying they like to keep a selection on hand “just in case”. So now I need to make more, starting with this one using the ... Moment Of Inspiration
Although I love the excitement of getting a new stamp set I still enjoy revisiting older ones. Today was one of those days as I was thinking about a new bookmark. With the nights already starting to draw in I’m going into hibernation mode, and reading forms a big part of that. So that’s what made me think of the In The Moment Stamp Set and one particular image. From there I began to look for a different sentiment and I decided that “Peace Joy Love” summed it up perfectly. ALTERED DIE-CUT ... VIEW POST
