It’s the first Friday in the month and that means it’s time for the A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month we’re celebrating ten years of Paper Pumpkin kits with alternate projects using the March 2023 kit. The colour palette used in the aptly named “10 Years Of Growth” kit is absolutely gorgeous and very spring-like. I’ve even created an image using some of these as inspiration for future projects. For my alternate projects I decided to make a card along with a quick and easy gift card ... VIEW POST
Honeybee Goodbye
It’s only been a few days since the Stampin’ Up! Last Chance promotion started and already there are a lot of things that have sold out. This makes it much harder for me to ensure my projects only include products that are still available for you to buy if you want. Today’s decorated box uses six retiring products including the Honeybee Home Stamp Set and coordinating Honeybee Blooms Dies. Several items are now available at deep discounts (see the product list at the end of my blog for more ... VIEW POST
Wildflower Path Ending
It never fails to happen that as I‘m using a stamp set or dies I discover something new. Usually it’s a good thing, but not always. You see right now I’m revisiting some products that are being retired by Stampin’ Up! It’s frustrating to realise that I’ve had a product for a while and not explored its full potential. Today I discovered small flowers and leaves in the Wildflower Path Stamp Set. I’d originally bought it for the Ralph Waldo Emerson quotation and completely overlooked these stamps ... VIEW POST
Scrappy Adventure
Earlier this month I joined the IDEAS Blog Hop where we brought you lots of ideas for using up various scraps. On that occasion I focussed on ribbon scraps, so today I thought I’d remind you about other things you may have lying around just waiting to be used. I’m talking about those background pieces you may have prepared, or sentiments you stamped but then changed your mind. While my pieces are actually leftover pre-printed parts from the Enjoy the Adventure Memories & More Card pack, the ... VIEW POST
Delicate Inspiration
As we quickly approach the announcement of which products will be retiring I’m keeping a close eye on items showing ‘low inventory’. That’s because there’s a real chance once the current stock has gone there will be no more. One pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that’s not at risk (yet) is the Delicate Desert 12” x 12” paper. I bought it even though the Desert Details Stamp Set and coordinating dies didn’t appeal to me. I haven’t been disappointed by this paper which inspired me to create ... VIEW POST
Highlighting Thanks
Once upon a time I was a card maker who couldn’t use anything but the card and ink that I’d acquired. Back then my designs were very simple and rarely included layers, But as my skills developed I realised that often what gives interest is texture and dimension. Sometimes that might be through the use of patterned papers, or lifting elements off the main surface. But right now my favourite method is to use fun techniques with embossing folders like this one from the Thanks & Hello Embossing ... VIEW POST
