Have you seen the free waterlily stamp set, dies and Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure? I must admit have the paper but haven't got my hands on the stamp set or dies. Yet. But what I do have is the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set and coordinating Lakeside Dies that are in the Annual Catalogue. These have been around for a year or two and I haven't used them in a while. So when I saw the Lily Impressions DSP I knew I had a smaller lily stamp that would be ... VIEW POST
Here Come The Flowers
It might be a slight understatement to say that spring has been a little late arriving here in Nova Scotia. Finally, we're seeing near normal temperatures and we might even see blossom on the apple trees in a day or two. Other flowers are starting to show signs of life as well and I'm looking forward to all the bright colours. In anticipation of that, today's birthday card project has a floral theme, courtesy of the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP). AN ABUNDANCE OF ... VIEW POST
Cauldron Bubble WWYS90
This week's stamp set for the What Will You Stamp? challenge, WWYS190 Cauldron Bubble, really had me stumped. As a member of the Design Team, I'm supposed to come up with ideas but Halloween just isn't my thing. Finally after days of nothing I had an epiphany. In the kitchen. While I was making apple and tomato chutney. Why not use the cauldron for the tag on my chutney! CAULDRON BUBBLE I started with the cauldron image from the Cauldron Bubble Stamp Set, stamped onto Thick Whisper ... VIEW POST
The Simplest Water Background
Often I know where the inspiration for my projects comes from, or at least have a vague idea. Today is not one of those days. I'm not even sure what made me pull out the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum. But once I'd created the water background, the rest of the project seemed to happen all by itself. WATER BACKGROUND This water background was so easy to do. I began with the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum with the embossed side up and I used a Dark Pool Party Stampin' ... VIEW POST
Faux canvas
Some years ago Stampin' Up! sold a product that had an art canvas type of texture. It's no longer available but I've discovered a quick and easy way to get that canvas effect, all courtesy of my new favourite Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called Subtle. This project actually started with the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the sailboat image onto a scrap of Whisper White Card and then coloured the pair of boats using Coastal Cabana and ... VIEW POST
Going far
The other day my hubby called me to the window as there was a large bird in our garden that he didn't recognise. Well very much true to form, the minute I got to the window the said bird flew off, but I did manage to get a bit of a look and suspect it was a heron. We see all kinds of wildlife around our little patch of Nova Scotia and the views from our home often inspire me to create projects like this simple picture. I started with a piece of card in my new favourite background ... VIEW POST
