Sometimes when I sit down to craft I know exactly what I'm going to do. Other times I just start playing and see where I end up. Today's project was one of those created without any real plan, and it was saved by the retiring Layering Ovals Dies. WELL SUITED It all began after I found an 8" x 10" brown carrier bag in my stash. It's very boring, but I remember buying it because I thought it was a perfect 'blank canvas' just waiting to be decorated. I'd been making lots of quite ... VIEW POST
Counting My Blessings This Weekend
It's the weekend, it's not snowing, and the sun is shining. I've decided that I'm going to have a very productive day even if it did get off to a slow start. One of the blessings of modern technology is that not only has it enabled me to have this blog, it also allows me to connect with my daughter and granddaughter in the UK. We connect most days, either by instant message or video, and it's something we all look forward to. After a nice chat this morning, today's card project seemed ... VIEW POST
Miss You, Or Did You Get The Storm Too?
So the snowstorm on Saturday dumped a fair amount of snow (about 6 inches) but thankfully that's only half what had been forecast. Other areas of Nova Scotia weren't so lucky and I have to say I feel for them. The snow was wet and heavy and not easy to move, even with a snowblower, and there's more coming. So it's the perfect time to finalise tomorrow's order for when the January to June Mini Catalogue finally launches. For my last sneak peek project I created this poignant "miss you" card ... Add A Star For A Special Thanks
Did you realise that one month from today Christmas will be a thing of the past? I know we'd all like 2020 to be over but this is getting ridiculous. So after the rush of getting Christmas cards done and in the mail, what comes next? For me what I need most are thank you cards, and lots of them. I love designing cards that are easy to make in bulk and today's project is a real star. BRIGHTLY GLEAMING This project all started with the star design from the Brightly Gleaming 12" x 12" ... Snowflake Wishes For A Winter Frame
Today's project was another one that kind of just 'happened'. I sat down knowing I didn't want to make a card, but wasn't sure what to make instead. In the end it was a sentiment in the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set that inspired me. SNOWFLAKE BACKGROUND With the sentiment in my head I began by looking for a background for my project. It made total sense to start with the Snowflake Splendor 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There are so many lovely designs but in the end I ... VIEW POST
Today’s Plan May Involve Chocolate
Well this morning has been eventful with my computer crashing for the second time in a week. It seems like I can't put off replacing it any longer. Apart from the cost, I'm not looking forward to having to transfer my programs and files. So in preparation perhaps I should begin storing some of my thousands of crafting photos onto disks instead. Then I really should think seriously about what I need from my next machine. It looks like it could be a day to break out the ... VIEW POST
