Last week I spent some quality time with my granddaughter on Brier Island here in Nova Scotia. Our trip was quite eventful with car trouble that threatened to scupper our plans. However some amazing locals on Long Island came to our aid and transformed a stressful day into one full of very special memories. We had the most amazing time whale watching and have made fast friends into the bargain. On our return I wanted to make thank you cards and this one is definitely something inspired by the ... Another Bird’s Eye View
I’ve just returned from spending time with my daughter and her family in the UK. The twins are now almost 2-1/2 years old and so different from when they visited us in Canada last October. Lots of new memories were made and I’m excited that my eldest granddaughter flew back with me. She’ll be here for 3 weeks and we have lots planned. Like me she loves to read so I made this Harry Potter themed bookmark for her using the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set and Very Best Trio Punch. EARTHEN ... VIEW POST
Fancy Trim
Do you need to have a plan when crafting, or are you happy to just “wing it”? To be honest pretty much everything I do has an element of unknown for me. Sometimes I’ll sit down with a vague idea in my head, other times I’m completely blank and have no clue what I’m going to make. The only certainty about today’s project was that it would be a birthday card. So let’s just say that the fancy trim and customised paper I ended up creating were a total surprise. A Fishing Moment
Over the past few weeks I’ve created a number of projects using the Let’s Go Fishing 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. One of the great things about the paper from Stampin’ Up! is that it's a heavier weight. Plus most are printed on the reverse with a different pattern, giving you more options for your money. So far I’ve been concentrating on the plainer designs in the pack but today my project is perfect for someone who loves fishing. I found the perfect sentiment for it ... VIEW POST
No Fishing
When I first glanced at the Let’s Go Fishing 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue I wasn’t excited. It’s great if you’re a fan of fishing, or know people who are, but that’s definitely not me. Then when Stampin’ Up! had their DSP sale last month I took a closer look. It was only then I realised that while there are a variety of fishing-themed designs, there’s a lot of others that aren’t. Take this pattern that reminds me of denim... LET'S IGNORE ... VIEW POST
Fill Up With Pecan Pie
Yesterday I created a vintage effect bookmark using a set of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers I was rediscovering. Today’s project is somewhat similar and again uses just one pair of Stampin’ Blends markers, this time Pecan Pie. One of the great things about Stampin’ Up! is that they make sure that their card, inks, markers etc all coordinate. They also list the colours used on their Designer Series Paper (DSP) thus taking out the guesswork. Then all I had to do for this card was cut and layer ... VIEW POST
