It’s time for another IDEAS blog hop where this month our theme is “We are cut out to be friends”. For this theme we were asked to create projects that focused on cutting. Of course there are lots of different ways that cutting is used in papercrafting but mostly I concentrated on fussy cutting. I created two projects for this month’s IDEAS tutorial bundle; a card and a fridge magnet. Then I created a second card for my blog. All three projects feature the cute By My Side Stamp Set. Gnomes Got Me Thinking
You know it’s really funny the things I think about when I’m crafting. Take this morning for instance. I decided I wanted to use the new Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set that I recently ordered from the July to December Mini Catalogue. I was attracted to this stamp set as soon as I saw it, and the fact that it had coordinating dies didn’t hurt either. But as I reached for the stamps I wondered about whether there were girl gnomes as well as boy gnomes. And suddenly there she was... KINDEST ... VIEW POST
Sea Where Your Stamp Sets Are Linked
I was inspired to create this tag when I was looking through some older stamp sets that I think are going to be retired later this month. Whale Done was one of them and I must admit I haven't used it much since the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) was retired. This set links really well to a couple of other stamp sets and for today’s project I picked out a sentiment. Then with the Seas the Day Stamp Set, along with the coordinating Sea Dies I set to work. WHALE DONE As I was ... VIEW POST
Lovely Inspiration For A Box Project
As well as producing wonderful stamp sets, dies and punches, Stampin' Up! offers some great packaging ideas. In the new January to June Mini Catalogue is the Love You Always Treat Box. It's easy to miss this in the catalogue so today I decided to show it to you. To decorate the plain white box I chose a sentiment and stamped images from the Lovely You Stamp Set. LOVELY YOU SLEEVE The box is a drawer-style and comes in two parts, the drawer and the sleeve. I began by decorating the ... VIEW POST
Miles Apart But Close At Heart
When I think of the phrase "miles apart but close at heart" like most people I think it refers to significant distances. In fact probably hundreds if not thousands of miles. But with all the COVID restrictions those miles (or kilometres) could be much less. Everyone is coping with the stress and worry in their own way and with vaccines now being approved for use hopefully we'll start to see the beginning of the end. Until then, why not bridge those miles with a handwritten ... VIEW POST
Marking World Diabetes Day 2020
In 1991 the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organisation created World Diabetes Day. Then in 2006 it was adopted as an official United Nations Day. It is now held every year on November 14th, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting who in 1922 co-discovered insulin with Charles Best. If you been following my blog for a while you may know that in June 2017 we lost our son to complications arising from his Type 1 diabetes. He was just 31 years old. So diabetes awareness ...
