Gift bags are a great quick and easy alternative to wrapping a gift. There's nothing worse that realising you don't have enough wrapping paper, or the sellotape has disappeared. Again. Gift bags require neither. The only challenge is putting my hands on a bag that suits the occasion. So now I've solved that problem by buying a pack of 8" x 10" strong brown bags with handles. Then all I have to do is add a tag, or decorate the bag front as I've done today. BIG BAG PANEL I began by ... VIEW POST
Lots of Time But Lots To Do
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a lot of extra time on their hands so that we're unable to go out. I'm also probably not the only person who knows that I they could make great use of that time, if only they stopped procrastinating. The only way I've found to get jobs done is to write them on a To Do list, check it frequently and tick them off. Of course when you have a long list of jobs you need a large To Do list. So that's what I made this morning. LARGE NOTEPAD I found ... VIEW POST
Watercolour Pencils With No Water
This morning I decided to revisit the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set with a different technique. I wanted soft to create a soft and delicate look and thought watercolour pencils might be perfect. Of course that was after I'd stamped the image using Stampin' Up! Classic Stampin' Ink! This ink is not waterproof so I had to change my plans slightly. I still used watercolour pencils, I simply left out the water part. DRY WATERCOLOUR PENCILS To create today's project I began with two ... VIEW POST
Warming Up For A Card Making Marathon
Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and today I made a decision. Every year since 2015 (with the exception of 2017) I've marked the occasion with my own personal card making marathon. I set myself the challenge to design and create from scratch 24 cards in 24 hours. This year I've been in two minds about whether to repeat the event as I have an all day commitment on Sunday so I won't be able to catch up on my sleep. This morning however I decided that I'd go ahead but with a slight change. ... VIEW POST
Magnolia Discovery
The new Magnolia Lane Suite that will be available to customers from June 4th (next Tuesday) is simply lovely. There's a very large Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and coordinating Magnolia Memory Dies. There's also an embossing folder and 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). It was while deciding which of the DSP patterns to use that I made a discovery. One of the dies matches one of the sheets of paper! Well the idea of a patterned background went out of the window and I ended up ... VIEW POST
For Someone Special
After yesterday's masculine gift tag sneak peek, today's project is more feminine. There's so many good things in the new 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue that I ended up using product from two different suites for this card. Don't you just love it when products play nicely together. SLOW WATERCOLOURING STAGE 1 I began by stamping the large and small magnolia images from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set onto some Watercolor Paper using StazOn Jet Black ink. While that was drying I ... VIEW POST
