Like sympathy cards I find that my favourite 'thinking of you' cards are generally quite simple. It's all about the message after all. So when I sat down to design today's simple Sunday project I decided to use just stamps, ink and paper. Instead of flowers I opted for a more masculine / gender neutral leafy theme. And for the sentiment I pulled out the Many Mates Stamp Set which I don't think I've used in a while. SIMPLE LAYERS I may have chosen leaves for my project but they ... VIEW POST
Flower & Field But Not Forever
Now we're into February there's only 24 days of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion left. When choosing my free items I'm torn between choosing one of the gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs or the exclusive stamp sets. I suppose it's a good job that the promotion coincides with the new Mini Catalogue. I always take advantage and stock up on new products, as well as staples like card, envelopes and adhesives. Then I get to choose several free items. One of my favourites this ... VIEW POST
Many Mates For A Simple Thanks
With Christmas almost here it's time to start thinking of saying thanks. Whether its for gifts received or simply to acknowledge someone who helps you, thanks are always appreciated. So today's simple Sunday project is a really simple card layout including a few retiring products. SIMPLE LAYERS My project began with a simple card base. First, using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some retiring thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease ... VIEW POST
Last Of The Summer Flowers
Over the past few days the weather has definitely turned colder and the few remaining summer flowers in the garden have gone. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye so I have one large pot plant that we bring into the garage overnight. In the local fields everything has either been harvested or will be soon. Then it's the inevitable wait for the first snow and the change to a less colourful landscape. So with more muted colours in mind I created this simple get well card. FLOWERS FOR ... VIEW POST
Fabulous World Cardmaking Day Fun
Today it's bright and sunny out and that always makes me smile. I'm also happy to be moving back into my craft studio now the bulk of the renovations are complete. I must say that I've been fortunate and could leave everything out while I've been working from my dining room table. Still it's not the same as having my tools and materials in their usual places. Things feel a bit messy and disorganised when I can't immediately put my hands on them or put them away properly afterwards. It's ... VIEW POST
Tag Designs Don’t Need To Be Complicated
With all the card making I do I inevitably end up with small scraps of patterned paper and card. For the most part I keep these pieces as I hate to waste anything. So when I find my scrap collection getting out of control I often turn them into a tag or two, or three. TAG BASE For today's tag project I began with a 2" x 3-3/4" piece of Misty Moonlight Card. Using the Fancy Tag Topper Punch I shaped one end and set it aside. Then I punched the top of a 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of ... VIEW POST
