The rain continues to fall and some (but not all) of the wildfires in Nova Scotia are out, or at least under control. The pictures that are being released are heartbreaking with so many homes and businesses damaged or destroyed. Still, people will likely rebuild but it will take quite some time. So while the weather prevents us from doing much in the garden I decided to stay in and craft (obviously). For this week’s simple Sunday project I created a fun birthday card using the Construction Zone ... VIEW POST
Delight In Monochrome
Normally I’d be disappointed if it rained at the weekend, but not today. Nova Scotia’s weather is finally giving the personnel fighting the wildfires a break. Hopefully with a full week of rain in the forecast things will be under control soon. Meanwhile I’ve been working on today’s card project. As I sat down my plan was to include dies and maybe an embossing folder, and keep the colour palette very simple. The final result using the Dainty Delight Stamp Set and Dies turned out even better than ... VIEW POST
Zany Colouring Idea
One of the reasons I love stamping is because it makes me feel artistic, even though my drawing skills are childlike to say the least. It’s also why I love Stampin’ Up!’s pretty Designer Series Paper (DSP). So when I get to combine the two I’m in heaven. Another reason I love their DSP is it gives me ideas. Take the Zoo Crew paper. The minimal colouring of the various critters inspired me to try the same thing with images from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set, and this birthday card was the ... VIEW POST
Bird’s Eye View
And just like that Monday rolls around and it’s time to do some less fun things. Still I was able to spend some quality time in my craft room and completed a few organisational tasks. Of course it’s impossible to go in there without making something and yesterday was no exception. So I opened up a new stamp set called Bird’s Eye View and decided to have a play. I have a feeling the two pairs of glasses will see a lot of use with this set and with others. BIRD'S EYES I began with a 2" x ... VIEW POST
A Fresh New Card
Having twin granddaughters is so interesting. They’re not identical, but sometimes it’s still hard to tell them apart. One appears to be right-handed and one left-handed (they even propel their scooters with opposite legs!). This week we discovered it’s common for twins to get chicken pox 14 days apart, and for the second twin to be much worse. The poor thing, is completely covered in blisters. I’ll video chat with her later but first here’s a “thinking of you” card using the Fresh As A Daisy ... VIEW POST
Timeless Simplicity
What a glorious weekend we’ve been having. Even though the wind off the bay is a bit chilly at times it keeps the bugs away. The washing is done and line dried, and now it’s time for a little gardening. We’re still clearing up the mess left by Hurricane Fiona last September which took down quite a few trees. Fortunately none hit the house, so we’ve been taking our time cutting up the debris. But before I disappear outside, here’s today’s simple Sunday project using the Timeless Arrangements ... VIEW POST
