Yesterday was a little scary weather-wise with a torrential downpour as I was driving home. Thankfully it only lasted about 10 minutes but it was enough to break the oppressive heat we’ve had. This was followed by a series of thunderstorms, punctuated by a gorgeous sunset which I neglected to photograph! I’m enjoying these late summer days knowing it won’t be long before the change of season begins. This morning it’s much fresher and I was inspired to create this thank you card using the Fond Of ... Kindness Is Simple
Once again the weekend disappeared in record time. One of the highlights was being invited to join a small team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to collaborate on a monthly PDF tutorial, featuring alternate projects using the latest Paper Pumpkin kit. I’m grateful that they feel my creativity is worth sharing, and humbled that they sought me out to join their team. I accepted their offer and will now do this alongside my other tutorial collaboration with the monthly IDEAS blog hop. So today this ... VIEW POST
Kraft Bag Inspired
Three weeks ago I showed you an idea for decorating a Kraft bag with a stamped and coloured panel. I loved the simplicity of this idea and thought it would make a great greetings card too. So today before the heat of the day becomes unbearable I decided to give it a try. Despite using the same ink and Stampin’ Blends colours, the Very Vanilla envelope and card liner look quite different to the front panel. But even so I’m delighted with the finished result of this simple Sunday ... VIEW POST
Wonderful Idea
Did you know that when I first started making cards I avoided buying patterned paper? It seems odd now I look back on it, but then I didn’t think it was worth the extra cost. Of course since discovering all the wonderful (mostly double-sided) Designer Series Paper (DSP) offered by Stampin’ Up! I’ve since changed my views. But when your patterned paper coordinates with a stamp set what happens when you run out? With the gorgeous images in the free Wonderful World Stamp Set I certainly don’t need ... VIEW POST
Gnomes Got Me Thinking
You know it’s really funny the things I think about when I’m crafting. Take this morning for instance. I decided I wanted to use the new Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set that I recently ordered from the July to December Mini Catalogue. I was attracted to this stamp set as soon as I saw it, and the fact that it had coordinating dies didn’t hurt either. But as I reached for the stamps I wondered about whether there were girl gnomes as well as boy gnomes. And suddenly there she was... KINDEST ... VIEW POST
Cottage Rose Surprised Me
When you sit down to make something do you have a fixed plan that you follow? Or do you just start and then see where the products take you? Mostly for me it’s the second option. In fact that’s how I ended up with the striking black and gold gift tag on my blog yesterday. My plan for this project was a simple background and focal point using the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. However when I pulled out the Cottage Flowers Dies they added an extra detail I hadn’t previously considered. COTTAGE ... VIEW POST
