Having spent most of my life in the UK, whenever I think of Christmas I always picture a cute English robin. These birds are quite small and round and about half the size of their American counterpart. We always had one that would visit out garden in the winter and wait for the feeder to to be refilled. So I suppose it was inevitable that with Christmas fast approaching I'd create a gift tag featuring an English robin. JUST A FESTIVE ROBIN My project began with the bird in the Santa ... VIEW POST
An Inky Idea – Faded Edges
OK I'm officially panicking now, I've just realised that it's only 43 days to Christmas. That's just 6 weeks! And so many things need to be done well ahead of then, like making and mailing Christmas cards and gift tags. No more procrastinating, I need to just get in the craft room and get it done. That's not to say it won't be fun, especially when I get to experiment with my supplies. Like the other day when I discovered faded edges... PINE BOUGHS This tag actually started with the ... Our Quiet Snow Scene Didn’t Last
As I predicted the snow scene we woke up to yesterday didn't last. The glorious sun melted most of it away, even though is was very cold in the wind. Still it's not even winter yet and there's potentially more snow in the forecast at the end of the week. So it won't be long before there's more pretty snow to enjoy from the comfort of the house. I think it's rather fitting therefore that I'd chosen this quiet snow scene card for today's Simple Sunday project. It was one that I made during ... VIEW POST
An Early Goodbye To Some Inks
Tuesday's the day when Stampin' Up! Demonstrators get news from the Home Office. Today we were advised that we have to say an early goodbye to some ink pads and refills. Fortunately the tag project I'd planned to show you doesn't include these inks so we'll start with that first. AN EMBOSSING FOLDER EXPERIMENT This was more of an experiment than anything else as I tried not to waste some damaged foil sheet. I began by trimming the Blueberry Bushel piece from the Nobel Peacock Foil ... VIEW POST
Summer Scenes Are In The Past
Well yesterday was eventful with horrendous wind and rain, and we weren't the only ones who lost power for a while. By the end of the day the few remaining leaves on our maple trees had gone and the landscape is looking much sadder. But instead of brooding I'll look back at a summer scene on a project I made for World Card Making Day. I'm not quite ready to surrender to the damp and cold just yet. BRAYERED SUMMER SCENE This project began with the simple brayered summer scene. First ... VIEW POST
Taking Inspiration from The Bay
Despite having lived most of my life in a very large town in the UK I think I'm a country girl at heart. Now I'm lucky enough to live in a very rural part of Nova Scotia and I never tire of the scenery. In fact it was the view out over the bay that inspired this card. FIRST PREPARE YOUR FISH For this project started with the fish image from the Best Catch Stamp Set. Using my Stamparatus I first stamped it onto some Window Sheet using StazOn jet Black ink and set it aside to dry. ... VIEW POST
