One of the fondest memories I have from my childhood is our visits to see Grandma. She and Grandpa only lived about 18 miles away, but when you had no car getting there wasn't so easy. So when we were able to visit it was always a big event. Best clothes, and definitely best behaviour. I loved the look of their little maisonette, which was full of photos and trinkets and memories. The walls and furnishings weren't threadbare, but everything felt cosy and lived-in, if that makes ... VIEW POST
Copper And Blue, Just For You
My plan this morning was to create a large gift tag that could be used for a variety of occasions. I knew I didn't want flowers but instead wanted something suitable for anyone. In the end I think I succeeded with copper and blue and a "just for you' sentiment. JUST FOR YOU I began with the "Just for you" sentiment from the Meant To Be Stamp Set, stamped onto Very Vanilla Card using Night of Navy ink . To cut it out I chose the Stitched Shapes Dies, specifically the #3 square die ... VIEW POST
Glossy Berries With Crystal Effects
A few days ago I decided to play with my new bottle of Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up! I wanted to see how different it was compared to using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen in adding shine to an image. The more I look at it, the more I think the finished project still needs some tweaking, but here's what I have so far. BERRY BOUGH What I needed for this 'test' was an image with berries, and I found exactly the right thing in the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set. But before I got to the Crystal ... VIEW POST
Patterned Paper And Stampin’ Blends
In June 2018 I showed you a card I made using patterned paper that I'd coloured with my Stampin' Blends. I fact I used just one Stampin' Blends marker that day. Today I have another project using the same technique, but this time I've used four Stampin' Blends markers. STAMPIN' BLENDS PUMPKINS This project started with the larger pumpkin design from the Come To Gather Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I found a small scrap already cut and simply decided to start colouring the white ... VIEW POST
Bird Ballad Meets Vibrant Vases
I absolutely love how Stampin' Up! coordinates its products and makes putting together projects so easy. Most of the time the coordination is obvious like when they create a whole suite of products. Sometimes though the coordination is more subtle and it takes a while for me to catch on. Today I was really excited to discover that the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP) coordinates with the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set! It really turned designing my Simple Sunday project into something extra ... VIEW POST
A Snowman Arms Observation
Sometimes when I'm crafting things don't always go according to plan, or I simply get distracted. That's what happened today as I sat down to create an autumn project. To be honest I'm not even sure how it happened. One minute I'm working on a sunflower and the next my desk is covered in snowmen. Then as I was using my Snowman Builder Punch for the first time I began to consider the issue of snowman arms. As you do. Here's what I finally ended up with today... SNOWY TAG This tag ... VIEW POST
