During the summer I had a great visit with my daughter and her family in the UK. As well as attending a friend’s wedding, and visiting a London theatre with my eldest granddaughter, I went to the cinema. It was a proper girly day out, just my daughter, eldest granddaughter and me watching the Barbie movie. So when I saw the roller skate image in the Curved Occasions Stamp Set I couldn’t resist making this project. Now every time I open my book I’ll be reminded of that day out. CURVED ... VIEW POST
A Little Bunny Inspiration
Every time Stampin’ Up! reveals a list of products being retired there’s always a good number of ribbons and embellishments. This year is no different. However while I’m sad to see so many retiring I know there’s lots of pretty new things coming to replace them. So as my latest series of ‘last chance’ projects draws to a close I wanted to highlight one of my favourite ribbons. This Gray Granite 1/4” Shimmer Ribbon was the perfect finishing touch for today’s cute bunny project and it’s one I’ll ... VIEW POST
Sunflowers For Thanksgiving
Did you know that in Canada the second Monday in October is Thanksgiving? The timing coincides perfectly with the end of harvesting and the changes autumn brings. Lots of people decorate for the season and sunflowers are a big part of that. On my drive from town the other day I noticed a large field of sunflowers, all different sizes and colours. So when I was thinking about a project for my blog today they immediately came to mind. This was the card I ended up making. Happy Thanksgiving ... VIEW POST
Elephant Fever
OK I admit it, I definitely have elephant fever. Although who can blame me when the Elephant Parade Stamp Set is so cute? There are three different elephant images in the set and today I’m using the sitting elephant once again. There’s something really appealing about this little guy, but I promise to get the last one inky very soon. This project was actually another one of my ‘experiments’. It wasn’t quite what I wanted for the card I was working on, however it was simply too good to throw ... VIEW POST
Whale Done Turtle Friends
A few weeks ago I designed a gift tag using two different stamp sets that were made for each other, Seas the Day and Whale Done. At the end of the post I mentioned there was another stamp set that went perfectly with Whale Done. I promised to bring you a project showing what I meant, and today’s the day. I can’t believe I never noticed the link between Turtle Friends and Whale Done before, but here it is. Maybe I should look more closely at my other stamp sets... LOOK WHAT I FOUND! When ... VIEW POST
Celebrating You For An Anniversary
Every card maker needs a good set of basic sentiments. Over the years I’ve collected a lot of them. Mostly they’ve come as part of a set with images, but not all. My current favourite sentiment-only stamp set is Celebrating You. This set of 16 sentiments covers most celebrations, and the fonts used are simply gorgeous. They’re crisp and clear and neat (I'm not keen on many of the ‘looser’ script styles). Today I decided it was time to make an anniversary card, and Celebrating You was there ... VIEW POST
