How was your Christmas Day? Ours was very quiet although we did manage a lovely video call with our daughter and her family in the UK. We still had the full turkey dinner, even though there were only two of us. There's also plenty of leftovers so we won't starve over the next few days. We also ate far too much chocolate especially since my friend Liz introduced me to the most amazing chewy chocolate bites. I loved them so much I simply had to make some for myself with a little tweak to the ... VIEW POST
Cookie, Biscuit Or HobNob?
One of the things I had to get used to when I moved to Canada was the subtle differences in the language. From the boot of my car becoming the trunk, to using a cart at the supermarket instead of a trolley, it was a learning curve. A cookie in the UK is a specific type of biscuit, whereas biscuits here are what I knew as scones. Cookie is used for all kinds of 'biscuits' in Canada. Confused yet? After ten years I still am. Whether you call them biscuits or cookies, my absolute favourite ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – I’ll Bee Yours
It's the last Thursday in the month and that means another A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month we're bringing you a swarm of alternate projects using the January 2020 kit "I'll Bee Yours". At first glance the I'll Bee Yours kit might seem to be for Valentine's Day. Well it can be, but the Paper Pumpkin Team wanted you to be able to use the kit all year long. Think of it more as a 'showing and sharing love' kit. So with that in mind I deliberately avoided the Valentine's sentiments ... VIEW POST
A Gift For The Fishermen
It seems like every time I look at my stamp sets I see another link to the new catalogues. Yesterday it was free Lily Impressions paper and the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set and Lakeside Dies. Today I have something for all the fishermen and women out there. I was looking at a fairly plain, brown design in the Tropical Oasis 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. It has a very subtle pattern that reminded me of fabric. I thought it would be even better if it were embossed and that's how ... VIEW POST
A Quick Boxing Day Sneak Peek
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Today is Boxing Day and so what else could I bring you on my blog but a box? This Mini Pizza Box is a really quick and easy option for small gifts. Of course there's a little sneak peek thrown in too. BOXING DAY PIZZA? I love these Mini Pizza Boxes from Stampin' Up! they are large enough to hold a set of 3" x 3" cards with envelopes and are about 1" deep. For the top I cut some Grapefruit Grove Card and glued on a piece from the Birthday ... VIEW POST
New Month, New Products, No Power
I'm really sorry my blog post is so late today. The first of the month generally means more work on my website with new products being launched. However when I was right in the middle of it the power went out! We're currently experiencing very high winds and apparently that caused the problem, but it's fixed. For now... So without any further delay here's a fairly simple cookie box. MINI PIZZA BOX BASE I began with a Mini Pizza Box then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to ... VIEW POST
