When I started making cards I didn’t understand why people added layers. It really seemed like an unnecessary cost. But as time passed I realised even the simplest layers added interest. That’s why I love Stampin’ Up!s commitment to colour coordination, it makes everything much easier. For example, when designing this card using the Rhino Ready Stamp Set I found a simple background design to match the ink colour. So if you’re looking for 2023-2025 In Color backgrounds, check out the Fresh As A ... VIEW POST
Simple Hope & Prayer
It’s Monday again, and raining. Two of my least favourite things. The weekend flew by as I was at a craft fair in Debert, Nova Scotia. It’s nice to be able to talk to people about my papercraft passion and also get their feedback on the cards and other things I had for sale. Sadly the most requested items were ‘sympathy’ and ‘thinking of you’ cards. So for today’s blog post here’s a card created using the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set during my recent World Card Making Day marathon. HELLO, ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: Joy Of Noel
It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “Christmas Crafting’ and we hope to inspire you to create handmade gifts and cards for those you love. For my contribution I chose the Joy of Noel Stamp Set and coordinating dies and in the IDEAS tutorial bundle there’s a Christmas card and gift card holder. I also made this Christmas card using pretty much all the same products. There’s definitely something about this colour scheme ... VIEW POST
Back to Trucking Along
In case you were waiting, the Trucking Along Punch is now back in stock, which means the bundle is also now available again. In order to showcase this cute stamp set and punch I decided to create a more contemporary Christmas card for today’s blog post. Other than a red truck I had no real plan, and sometimes that means the finished project is as much of a surprise to me as it is to you. In the end it was a large die-cut circle that pulled it all together. TRUCKING BUNDLE I knew I wanted ... VIEW POST
Playing While It Rains
Hurricane Lee has begun to impact Nova Scotia, although it’s now been downgraded to a ‘post-tropical storm’. We’re still going to get strong winds, heavy rain and tidal surge, but over a much wider area. By 8.20 am over 90,000 properties were without power, and the situation will get worse before it gets better. So I need to get my post typed quickly, just in case. When I sat down to design this notecard project I couldn’t help but reach for the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and Dies. CUTE ... VIEW POST
Leaf Fall Again
Great news! The All About Autumn 6” x 6” Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) is back in stock. Yay! With autumn ‘photos’ on one side and copper foiled patterns on the other, this has to be my favourite paper from the Mini Catalogue. I love the warm colour combinations and the images are simply gorgeous. For today’s “thinking of you” card I decided to combine an autumn leaf photo with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. And it gave me a rare desire to use orange for my card base. AUTUMN ... VIEW POST
