With Christmas only a few days away thoughts now turn to the kitchen. Or more specifically the freezer and the certain knowledge that I'm bound to forget to take something out. While making my last few craft projects I am simultaneously thinking about the food I need/want to prepare. So this is how I ended up with today's bookmark project using some bits from the December Paper Pumpkin kit called Lots of Pun. As well as marking my place in a recipe book my bookmark is going to help me stay ... VIEW POST
Card Trimmings Don’t Go To Waste
Even though as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I get 25% discount on all my orders, I still hate to waste my craft materials. But like most crafters the problem is storing materials and then, more importantly, being able to find what I need. For the past 7 years or so I've used the same system for managing my card trimmings so it's been well tested. I save scraps of all shapes and sizes and yet everything still fits into an 8-1/2" x 10" biscuit tin that sits on my desk. The key to ... VIEW POST
Wonderful Way To Stay On Track
As I get older I know that my memory is not as good as it used to be. So I definitely rely on lists to keep track of important things I need to do. I keep a notebook and pen in my handbag for when I'm out, and there's one on the fridge too. I've even trained hubby to add to the shopping list as soon as he realises we need something! As I'm working in my craft studio I'm often inspired with ideas for other projects and a pad on my desk is a must. So when I found a small daily desk planner I ... VIEW POST
A Place To Write My Plans
Yesterday was a very productive day. I mentioned that with only 4 months to go, I really should get going on my Christmas crafting. That meant making plans for what I need to do and when. I did do that, but first I needed a place to write things down. So that's how I ended up with today's project share; a little pine tree notebook. POINSETTIA PLACE The idea for my notebook started with a pattern from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP). While obviously there are ... VIEW POST
Paper Tole or Paper Piecing, it’s still fun
Crafting of any kind can become expensive and I'm always looking for ways to use my products rater than wasting them. That means when I have scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I keep them in their original pack along with the full sheets. I must admit that I keep tiny pieces, I mean, really tiny. After all I never know when I'll need that small piece for a project. Today was one of those days when my tiny scraps of DSP came into their own as I created a pretty bookmark. Whether you call ... No Excuses This Christmas
While not everyone has the luxury of staying safe at home right now, many people have found they have extra time on their hands. Closets are being sorted and cupboards tidied, at least in my house. So it was inevitable that I'd come across some large biscuit tins that I'd saved "in case I needed them". It also occurred to me that this 'spare' time means there'll be no excuses for not having cards and other Christmas projects done in plenty of time. So having put those two ideas together I ...
