Last month I made my first Z-fold card in a very long time. It's such an easy way to add interest to a card I have no idea why I don't do it more often. So when I was working on my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge I decided to make my last card a z-fold one. Z-FOLD BASE I began this project by creating a basic A2 card base (5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored on the long side at 4-1/4"). Then I flipped the card over and with the other long edge at the top scored it at 2-1/8". Then it was simply a ... VIEW POST
Happy Day? Let’s Wait And See
If you're seeing this blog post then it means I managed to finish before Hurricane Teddy hit. I made this "Happy Anniversary" card ahead of time so you'd have a blog post to read whatever happened here. So now you can enjoy this, and today's stamp sale, while I work on tomorrow's project and blog post. Just in case... GORGEOUS PAPER As I began my project, once again I was drawn to the Gilded Autumn 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. This time I chose the less 'autumnal' ... VIEW POST
So Many Snowflakes Took Over
I really hadn't planned to make another Christmas gift tag so soon. In fact I started out with the intention of making a card using colours from a design challenge. Of course like many of my crafting sessions things took on a mind of their own. I'm not even sure why I picked up the So Many Snowflakes Dies, but it didn't turn out too bad in the end. SNOWFLAKES When designing a new project I often pull out lots of different products and just to get my creative juices flowing. It's only ... VIEW POST
Always Something New To Try
If there's something I've learned in my crafting journey it's that there's always something new to try. Take this morning for instance, I'd planned a simple background using some patterned paper edged with a little foil sheet. I cut a strip 1/8" wide as I always do, and then an idea popped into my head... What if I cut a slightly wider strip and embossed it? And the rest, as they say, is history. PAPER FIRST I actually started this project by choosing the very subtle Petal Pink ... VIEW POST
Seabed Or Something Much More?
When your house overlooks the bay that has the highest tides in the world, you can't help gravitating to sea related images. Whether it's the beach, sailing or sealife, I always have to stop and take a second look. So it was with the new Whale Of A Time Suite in the Stampin' Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. From the fun stamp set, to the cute punch, to the bright and colourful Designer Series Paper (DSP), it definitely called to me. What I wasn't sure about was the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. ... Sending Hugs And Kisses
Sometimes you want to give a little gift to show you care. So I thought it would be fun to send hugs and kisses in one sweet treat package. As today's project shows, it really doesn't take long to create something special. SENDING HUGS This project all started with the pretty "sending hugs" sentiment from the retiring Perfectly Framed Stamp Set. Taking some Very Vanilla Card I first wiped it with the retiring Embossing Buddy to remove any oils and static. Then I stamped the ... VIEW POST
