Every week for several years now I've brought you a Simple Sunday project. Sometimes it's involved a simple layout, sometimes it's a simple technique or idea. My idea was that it's easy to get so caught up in all the extras, that sometimes we forget that papercrafting doesn't have to be complicated, or need lots of expensive tools. Well it seems that Stampin' Up! agrees with me and you'll start to see projects using the #simplestamping hashtag. #SIMPLESTAMPING So to kick off this year long ... VIEW POST
Mixing Paper Products
One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! products is the way everything coordinates. It makes it so easy to create lovely projects with the minimum of fuss. That was important during my personal World Card Making Challenge last month as I tried to design and make 24 different cards in 24 hours. Today's project is the last of those using layers of different paper products for a celebration card. A SIMPLE START I began this project very simply with a piece of Thick Whisper ... VIEW POST
Painted Glass altered roundel
Sometimes a stamp image is so striking it's hard to think of new ways to use it. For me, the images in the Painted Glass Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! fall into this category. So today, with three design challenges for inspiration, I decided to try something different with the roundel from that set. OK it may not be obvious, but I am happy with the minor adjustments I made to this pretty image. But first things first... THE COLOURS My colours were inspired by the Paper Players ... VIEW POST
Gothic script
As soon as I saw the Painted Glass Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I fell in love with the boldness of the gothic script. So when I discovered that as part of the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team I'd have to create a project using this stamp set I knew it would involve one of the four gorgeous sentiments. Although there's only four sentiments in the set they cover so many occasions (thank you, sympathy, birthday and celebrate) that at first I wasn't sure which one to choose. In the ... VIEW POST
Heat embossing tips
I love heat embossing, there's something quite magical about stamping an image, sprinkling it with powder and watching it morph into a shiny, raised design simply by the application of heat. But while the theory is simple, results can vary and I've found that it's definitely worth taking a little time if you want to get really good results. My birthday card project today is all about the heat embossing and I reveal my top ten heat embossing tips along the way. It's no secret that I ... VIEW POST
Easy flower arranging
I've never really been a 'flower' type of person. My family will tell you that I'm not a fan of cut flowers (they're already dying when you get them), although rooted plants for the garden or home are nice. In fact in 2011 I received a planted basket of mostly green plants and it's still growing quite nicely thank you, despite my regular neglect. I often find myself wondering then why I seem to be drawn to flowers in my papercrafting. I keep telling myself I don't need more flower images ... VIEW POST
